  1. Nightshape made a likewise post last time I did a NWCon4 post here. inspired my sig here for him. I voice acted in many NWN modules (might hold the record) and have done live stage theater. DM hundreds of roleplay story adventures for a lot of folks. I have done more story villain roles. I suggest the NWN2 module "King for a day" where I finally voice the "protagonist" might help you move on Nightshape from being a shuddering scared forum troll turd when I visit here. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2M...tail&id=341

  3. Oh yes I would dig hearing a offical Obsidian Podcast. My statement that any of you can run a podcast is that it would not be hard for Obsidian to make also. If anyone finds it fun they will make time to produce the show.
  4. (reply to the above two) Ive had fun drinking over the NWNPodcast from a stein full of beer! If I was to say anything to extreme.. having team mates with better judgement at the time to edit stuff out works great. The way I look at it is since it is a show for the game that also includes drinking in it also why not in a Podcast? Plus im not being paid at all to consider being a robot worker and can be human all I want and have fun. we have drawn the line on cuss words and that is fine with me since were creative enough without needing them or having them really slip out or come to mind. But if you wanted to sware worse then Popeye the sailor ya could since alot of other gaming Podcasts do so. They can very easy include guests from all over the world if they wanted to in a Podcast , We have for the NWNP. Just dealing with time zones of guests we have to find someone from our team that can make time when the guest is free to have a online audio meeting with us. But really any of you can start up your own podcast to talk about gaming or focus on Obsidian games.
  5. It would be wicked to hear a Obsidian show. Based on the suggestions above. A lot of your fans sometimes want to hear more then just about NWN2. The NWN Podcast can never get enough of having Obsidian folks as guests onto our show and still plenty more we would love to have join us. I have yet to audio chat with any of yall and would be cool to hang out over the show sometime.

  7. reading the dnd 3.5 books open the game greatly but not needed since anyone is free to create their own system and youll find many rules youll want to adjust anyways (and that is OK as long as the game is still fun) only few diehards of D&D fret but if they are experience it will be nothing new to them on a big or small scale. buy the D&D Players kit insted of the Players handbook hardcover, youll save more and youll get some bonus stuff that will help you and your players to quickly build player characters better. I have both HeroQuest and DragonStrike both are awesome to combine together with minis. can be found on ebay $30 Painting them yourself is a fun experience to kill time (more fun while on a bumpy road while driving) I have found a good amount of great deals on minis for less then $1 each (that I believe they are worth since some are painted just the same manner as a Quarter Machines kids nag their parents about as they exit a store to buy them a plastic capsole containing a toy inside) IconUSA has good deals but they do not update their website database often and only tell you this when there is over 20 items listed on their site as avialable and you recieve a e-mail from them that its not after you paid for them and get your order canceled! they will likely waste your time as they did mine. Battleworks.net has a vast amount of minis at a good price had a good experience with them as well as ebay that has alot of cool merchants devoted to mini's. just having a plain battlegrid made with a ruler and a ink pen over a blank peice of paper I bet you will be gamed more then any of the well designed map tiles. and even with the coloring skills of a 5 year old the players will have a good time making fun of you ... just joking. many adventures youll do few tilesets can provide the perfect location visual. there was a free app program somehwere that let you make your own printed game tokens from images off the web. (usen this with images from video games the possabilities are endless, look good and cheap like from NWN2) and youll have a massive amount for your printer ink & paper value alot more compared to mini's. editing images with programs like MS paint I believe is already with Vista and XP and Mac has some free image app too. to make tokens more durable you can take the cardboard from ceral boxes and get a spray can of glue from a crafts store for about $3 and glue your paper to the cardboard. (open a window or do this outside in low wind) my players dont mind me usen a combination of both minis and tokens, it saves me alot of money when I want a army 4th edition from what I understand even with its PC tools are designed for online and offline play to use your PC as a quick rules aid while your running your game so the suggestions ive made above should still work with this new edition.
  8. sometimes creating your own stories isnt as time consuming as you think. table top pnp or with the NWN games. tons of adventures start out with a location be it even a cliche spot and the players storywise often go looking for trouble themselves. and creating trouble for them on the fly as a DM is sometimes more easy then following a module to improvise the whole adventure. locations and people can be created on the fly as well. players will likely have fun doing this and having their part in creating this game with you. I game pnp modules and often when there is a location that has plenty of other possabilities like Shadowdale you mentioned Ramza. ill run my own adventure if the players complete a module with in that location to enhance the feel for the mental visual place and people. the huanted house there, elf Leap , the hidden Lair within Fox ridge. the watchers knoll. harpers, Elminsters tower, the Twisted tower, eventing such stories and possabilities before hitting a module like the recent FR trilogy modules could help prepare you and your players for an awesome adventure and when the destruction actuly hits Shadowdale you and your players will feel the effects more in awe.
  9. trying to think of somewhere to begin with how astonishing the Forgotten Realms is is a task in its self. more and more folks keep getting addicted to this setting everyday. it being the worlds Largest RPG setting its already been a standard of pure fantasy. no such setting was more loved..... and feared!
