  1. Yo Volly cheer up. Of course it's their achievement, but I'm still allowed to be happy for them alright?
  2. I just found out Christoph Waltz and Michael Haneke both won an Oscar. This is a great day for Austria.
  3. Michel Ancel going to leave Ubisoft? No BG&2 then.
  4. Aha, now it's a publisher decision. That's a nice way of saying "Yes we will block used games, but we're just gonna blame publishers for it. Please refer your questions to the respective publishers." Publishers then will lash out and say "No no, it's Sony's policy. There's nothing we can do about it. Please refer your questions to Sony, thank you." You always need two to Tango to deceive the public. Either way, perhaps you will be able to play used copies, but as I said before, it won't come without any kind of penalty (fee to re-activate used copy?). Sony wants to make a profit of that big market, too. They'd be stupid not to do so.
  5. That poor guy at the end was probably hit with a teargas canister on his head. And thus, inFamous: Second Son was born!
  6. Yes, very expensive. And not necessarily the best, but certainly the fastest solution to implement for a company that does not want to provide the R&D money to search for cheaper yet similarly good solutions. MS is supposedly going to use the much cheaper and cooler (thermal) 8GB DDR3 RAM, but is using on-die edram and other manufacturing tricks (3D stacking) to reach similarly high bandwidth results. Aka higher R&D costs, but lower fabrication costs. Hence, MS might have more price flexibility here.
  7. http://www.d-down.jp/ On the upside, at least Capcom is still making man-cave games. Wonder if this is supposed to be a Dark Souls competitor, or just Dragon's Dogma 2?
  8. Yeah, you would put your 15 year old scratched PS1 disk into your shiny new PS4, and it would immediately destroy the BD laser diode.
  9. http://www.aliennoire.com/ Now with Prey 2 logo.
  10. Als this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rGlu3e9kdks Notice how the audience is bursting out in laughter while Jimmy is sticking knifes into throats and yelling like an idiot. "HOUHOHOHOOOOOOO WOOOOOHOOOU WOOOOOU HOU HOHUHUEUEUEHIHUUUU!!!!!"
  11. Daymn couldn't have said it better myself.
  12. Why would you say that? Shouldn't porting PS4/Xbox720 games to the PC now even easier than before due to more similar architecture (x86)?
  13. No it won't because Sony is not exactly in good financial shape and they need to cut cost wherever possible. Creating a PS2 emulator and then providing support would not make any business sense for Sony. That's why they'll use Gaikai streaming. They won't make much profits from the hardware itself, so they now need to make money of services and digital. Sooner or later, they're gonna provide PS1/2/3 streaming on PCs, tablets etc too because it creates more revenues. They have to. Money speaks louder than exclusivity.
  14. Crysis is a brand new game. You mean you pay full price for a game, try it for 2-3 hours and then uninstall it? Where did you buy it? Greenmangaming.com 45€ minus 20% voucher minus 12,50€ credit = ~22€. Still a total waste of money.
  15. Not initially at least, I think. But maybe 2-3 years down the road, both Sony/MS could decide to ship a new hardware SKU that comes without optical drive (price cut!), and also announcing btw that retail games won't be produced anymore due to the majority of demographics having fast enough internet. All games will then be bought exclusively in their respective online stores. Doing this at launch would be suicide, but as people get used to the idea they will eventually succumb to the corporate will. They always do.
  16. Played an hour or two of Crysis 3. "Very impressive", is the first thing you're probably gonna say. Graphics and sound are absolutely outstanding. But as you keep playing, you soon realize what a ****ing trite piece of garbage this game is. You get rushed from one map note to another, like in Crysis 2, only this time the pacing is a lot worse. Stealth bowing Cell dudes to get from A to B, cutscene with Psycho, rush through high grass while being bombarded by laser turrets, wade through some more grass and play matador and bull with Ceph, then the same over again. They sure managed to let those maps look a lot bigger than they actually are. The whole level design is like one big film set. Boring, underwhelming, but pretty. Very pretty. Welcome to Hollywood Interactive. Uninstalled. Don't buy.
  17. That was Yoshida, looks like I'm getting a PS4 He didn't answer the question with a clear yes or no though. I suspect you can buy used retail copies, but have to re-activate them for a fee that goes directly to Sony.
  18. American society is deeply violent historically and culturally speaking, so you won't get a ban on high-rapid assult rifles and other weapons that can inflict massacres in the near or medium term future. A maniac with a hand gun or a knife will think twice to inflict a massacre (because he can be stopped/wrestled down easier) than a guy with an sub- or full automatic assult rifle, which will give him the feeling of a god like creature, thus removing a psychological barrier. Why no ban on such weapons? --> Business, as always.
  19. You know guys, after watching these...err "gameplay" demos again, all I can see is further Hollywood-ification of games. I felt nothing. Then I rewatch that Aliens RPG pre-Alpha demo from Obsidian, and all of a sudden I feel excitement, sorrow, nostalgia etc. Not even David "Emotion-Man" Cage could invoke that feeling inside me with his old dude demo.
  20. Watch out for the Daaaawwwgs.
  21. All I see here is movies and tech demos. Great that Sony hasn't changed a bit.
  22. Haha you're buying this piece of crap?
  23. The Emotion-Man is talking again.
