Americans sure like invasions and war settings. Personally, I hope Crytek will rather make a spiritual successor with the Homefront name on the box only, or at least try to differentiate themselves from the predecessor. Because let's be clear, I think HF1 was a one-trick-pony, I don't think they can build up on that alone 'cause quite frankly the game got horrible press scores, and I think most of the buyers might agree. If THQ is smart, they let Crytek do their own thing.

Agreed. Crysis 1 was kinda boring. But Crysis 2 was a whole lot different. The campaign was excellent.

Homefront 1 was indeed generic, that's why Kaos is gone and pros like Crytek have taken over to make a supa dupa sequel.

Crytek hired to work on Homefront 2, scheduled for 2014 release Well that was unexpected. Was the Homefront 1 campaign any good? Many years back Obsidian staff was quite talkative, nowadays not so much. Even the Big Cheese dropped into the forums and talked to us lower pawns. You're lucky today if you get a developer saying "W00t I like dat horse armor too!" comment. I.E. Non-informative, useless stuff.

HD remake doesn't mean they completetly re-work the art. That would be too expensive. It just means that the engine is re-written for PS3 compatibility, and the res goes from SD to HD. Maybe they re-do the UI elements. And remaster the sounds. But that's about it.

TFU series was impressive from a technical standpoint, but the rest was as soulless as George Lucas' Episode I-III. Heck, I didn't even like space shooters back in the day but that didn't stop me from finishing X-Wing Alliance thanks to a superb cast and mission design.

Lucas Arts hiring for couple of projects, including a Space Sim? Do it right this time LA. LA used to be such a great developer back in the 90s, but their latest effort, TFU2, was total garbage. I really hope they acknowledge that.

I wouldn't say WoT is "unannounced". The partnership with RedEagle and EA was announced a year ago or so.

Heavy Rain is the kind of experience you either dig or hate - especially if you already watched a LP on youtube.

That trailer already exudes more awesome than MP1+MP2 put together. But some people have just narrow tastes and can't get over the fact that different developers can surpass the predecessor.
