  1. Hehe, cool. I've checked out the Alpha Protocol wiki briefly before, but I didn't see that it was Ausir running it. Hope it can become a good hub to check out alternate paths and all that good stuff after the game comes out.
  2. After the so called 200 endings of Fallout 3, there is no way I'm ever gonna take a number like that seriously again when it comes to endings. However, I will put my trust in Obsidian as far as this goes. Chris Avellone said somewhere that there were a number of big endings, say 1, 2, 3 and 4 (just for speculation, no clue on how many there actually are). And then a number of permutations of them depending on allies, people you've killed etc etc. We also don't know exactly how the endings will look and play out. I expect it will be something like a long cutscene for the main endings and then something more akin to the classic RPG ending slide.
  3. Yep. Still, if I had to choose I would (selfishly since I have a good internet connection) choose activating the game online vs having to have the disc in the drive whenever I played. The thing I really dislike is the activation limits, but at least it looks like you never can "lock yourself out" so to speak, that lifting an activation is easy (even if you're installing the game on a new computer and having used up the 5 activations previously). It's not exactly ideal but still better than I thought. EDIT: And it's good to see them mention already that the DRM will be lifted (even if it's a fairly long time until then). Hope they keep their word on that.
  4. Thank the lord for A) being able to get into the game quickly, skipping tutorial stuff and B) the addition of iron sights. Really don't like this though: Hope that can be turned off. I wonder what they mean by that there are new camera modes during combat, or if that is just referring to being able to use the iron sights.
  5. Yet another preview, this one very positive: http://blog.zavvi.com/games/xbox-360-ps3-p...nds-on-preview/
  6. There's more exact details here: http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?p=5788545#post5788545 Sounds better than I thought initially. Getting activations back (even if you've used up all activations on different computers) sounds easy enough. That was my main worry.
  7. Another preview, pretty positive with some negative as well. http://g4tv.com/games/xbox-360/62110/alpha...nds-on-preview/ Feels the voiceacting goes up and down and that the story is "vanilla". On the other hand, it really likes the choices and feels that the game does a good job of making the player feel like he's playing a spy.
  8. I think my first playthrough will mostly be going for the professional path with occasional dips into suave (and maybe aggressive some time). The skills I plan to focus on are pistols, stealth and the one that lets you hack and all that (technical aptitude?). I'll try to play as quietly as possible. Not necessarily going for no kills, but trying to do things professionally and quiet. If some dude needs to be shut up permanently, then so be it.
  9. I don't think there were any actual huge changes in the delay. Some bugs were fixed and I believe the lighting in the game was revised or something. Other than that, it does seem like the delay was intentionally to get the game into a better release spot (avoiding games like Call of Duty and Dragon Age last autumn).
  10. http://www.1up.com/do/minisite?cId=3178959 Here's a countdown for anyone interested in counting down the seconds until the game is released, it seems like a good way of spending your time.
  11. Damn, I even posted in that thread. Looks like they were going to fix it judging from what Sawyer says in that thread. Maybe a developer can clarify if they see this.
  12. What was that about? I can't remember at the moment. Bad Latin? Here's the unsubbed version of the video:
  13. Here's a trailer for Mike himself, seems to be in the same series of trailers as the DSS trailer: Could only find it with german subtitles, it's brand new so I guess a subless version will show up soon. Not much new for me there and I definitely don't think it will woo the mainstream audiences.
  14. I think a lot of people (myself included) are having some problems in seeing how the characters and story will work. On some levels you have characters like Leland and Shaheed that, while they may be slightly over-the-top in some ways, still feel pretty serious. The overall tone for the game in trailers and so forth is also pretty serious, kinda like Bourne I suppose. But then you get characters like Brayko and SIE that are just completely out there, more Kill Bill-esque (I think some developer mentioned Kill Bill as an inspiration somewhere). It's hard to see how it will all mesh together. I hope they manage to hit a good note in terms of the tone and presentation of the game, so that it doesn't feel like it's pulling away in two different directions.
  15. Blue
  16. Met an old friend who went to the same school as I did. Hadn't met or talked to her for 5 years or so and was pretty nervous that it'd end up being one of those awkward "soo.... what do you do nowadays?" conversations. But thankfully enough, it felt like we'd stayed in touch all this time. It just picked up right where it left off and we had a blast. Great feeling to re-gain a friend like that. Was a beautiful day as well and went to a local fair. Bought some comfy slippers and some really yummy honey. Great day.
  17. Without going into the whole "old vs new" argument again, some of these previews are just so delightfully ironic in how they present the new developer and how it's good that they didn't reinvent the wheel because it would piss off the fanbase... It's just so comedic. Hope we'll see some new stuff for New Vegas soon. EDIT: Also.... A cactus, in my Fallout?!?!!? *gasp*
  18. We be trollin'.
  19. I agree with much of what you say there craigdolphin, but unfortunately you're barking up the wrong tree here. It's not Obsidian (the developer) who makes this decision, it's the publisher (SEGA) who decides on the DRM. But I agree with much of your ranting. I'll still buy the game (which is the first time I'm buying a game with this kind of DRM) because I'm really looking forward to playing it myself, but yep... It kinda sucks.
  20. I really liked both of those. Mina has been one of those characters that seems pretty key and friendly to Thorton, I wonder what she's really up to. We didn't know anything about Conrad afaik (just saw him in a trailer or something), seems pretty awesome. Kinda enjoyed these little vignettes, they were pretty fun.
  21. You are a true trooper Mr Bulock! Also, make sure to search the beard before discarding it... there may be long lost treasures in there!
  22. I think she said "headline", not "hitman". But yeah, guessing there's a lot more to this chick than meets the eye. It will be intriguing to see how the relationship/influence system affects how all these characters play out in the end.
  23. Not crazy about this guy, might be my dislike for 80s pop culture though, hehe. I like the whole knife schtick though, and pimping out his own sisters at a young age certainly sets the scene of this guy being a dangerous loony. I said this before somewhere, but I do hope there's more depth to these characters beyond the outer insanity of Brayko or the sexual innuendo of SIE. OEI has great writers, so I really hope these characters aren't just one-beat characters so to speak. My fav so far is definitely Leland. I look forward to seeing the tension between him and Mike, looks like it could be good.
  24. That's what he looks like under the beard.
  25. And I pray to the Lord that Bethesda will allow OEI to hire the company again for New Vegas.
