  1. I'm not 100% sure, but my random crashes seem to have drastically decreased after reinstalling my RealTek audio drivers. I have a feeling that the Windows April update may have broken certain drivers, making games unstable. http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsview.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false Update: I ripped out my R9 390 and put in a 1050Ti and installed Geforce drivers. The game has been rock solid ever since (at least 10 hrs with no crashes). The R9 390 is not broken, BTW, I completed Far Cry 5 on it just a few weeks earlier. I'd suggest a "clean install" of all your drivers and maybe if you have integrated graphics, try switching to that and see if it still crashes.
  2. Crashes (and these are not simple CTDs, but hard crashes that require resetting the PC) have been far more frequent once I hit Neketaka (only had a handful before). They are 100% random and it doesn't matter if I'm indoors or out; the crashes are frequent now - about every 15 minutes. It's becoming very close to unplayable, but at this point I'm unable to refund it. Also I'm using G.Skill DDR3 1866MHz RAM on an i5 760. GPU is a Sapphire Nitro R9 390 using AMD's Feb drivers (I rolled back). Win 10 x64 Pro (April update), GoG version. 1920x1200 res (the game is stable at 1280x720 windowed for me so far, although I haven't yet tried this work around in Neketaka).
  3. A number of people seem to be having this issue. I got through it by changing the resolution to 1280x720 (Windowed), but perhaps it was just luck. After completing Character Creation I switched back to 1920x1200 fullscreen and it's been mostly stable since.
  4. After setting the game to 1280x720 for the character creation section I was able to play the game at native resolution (1920x1200) up until Port Maje, where, as before, the game caused multiple hard crashes (requiring a reboot of Windows) at random times during the section with the Governor talking to the crowd on the platform and the subsequent interaction with him. Again, switching to 1280x720 Windowed allowed me to get past this scene, after which I could switch back to 1920x1200 and continue playing. Launching the game in Administrator and "Disabling Fullscreen Optimisations" is unsuccessful for me.
  5. Have had the same issues - hard crashes (black screen, looping sound, forced to do a hard reset) withing the first few minutes of play. After trying everything (graphics settings, windowed/fullscreen, rolling back GPU drivers etc), I managed to complete the character creation by switching to a lower resolution (1280x720) in "Windowed mode". I now suspect it might have to do with non-standard (i.e. 16:9) aspect ratio screens maybe - I'm running a 1920x1200 (16:10) monitor. I'll try reverting back to to 1920x1200 mode and see if the crashes resume - it's been completely stable in 1280x720 (haven't tried 1920x1080 yet) so far.
  6. I have been having the exact same problems. Couldn't even get past character creation section of the game. The game hard crashes, with a black screen and looping sound (no Windows error or anything in the PoE log), forcing pushing the PC's reset button. System is an i5 760, R9 390, Win10 x64 (April update), 16 GB RAM. Screen Res 1920x1200 (16:10). After trying all the usual (older GPU driver, graphics settings, fullscreen and windowed modes etc), I was able to "solve" it by switching to 1280x720 windowed mode, which provides rock stable gameplay. I now suspect that the non 16:9 screen resolution might be the issue? Anyway, try 1280x720 windowed and see if that works for you also.
