Hi all. I bought The Outer Worlds the other day and was running it fine on my R9 380. I decided I wanted to get some better performance so I bought a brand new MSI RX 590 OC. The game now runs amazingly for about 2 minutes until it crashes. The screen freezes but the audio continues, then after a few seconds the screen goes black and I'm kicked off to desktop. After the game crashes, the Radeon Adrenaline software also breaks and I have to close it through task manager. As well as this I'm occasionally getting the black screen for a few seconds when outside of games, similar to when installing
I am playing on PC with the xbox game pass version. After I installed the newest Nvidia drivers that were released on 10/29/2019, my game will run for approximately 3-5 minutes until it immediately crashes/closes. I own a RTX 2080 Ti. I receive no error message or pop up upon it closing and I am returned to my desktop. I experience the same issue every time I boot the game back up. I was having no issues with the game until I installed the driver.
So, I've seen a few people discuss this in other threads, but not this exact issue. I'm not completely sure what the problem is here. Seems like a potential driver issue, but I'm not 100% on that. I have rolled my my nVidia drivers to see if that would stifle the issue, but nothing has seemed to help thus far. My current drivers are 397.64. I've made it to the character creation screen several times and every time, without fail, my game seems to crash. You can still hear the music looping, but both of my displays go black.
