  1. This is very sad to hear. I do hope that Obsidian will release a statement of sorts, I'd rather they don't go silent on the matter; for it will only add to the fire in the long run. Goodness, I hope that this doesn't affect Deadfire. The people who worked on it, really put a lot of effort into the project. It will suck anus if they get affected by this corporate drama. Again I'm very sad to hear that Chris had to suffer through this, but I don't want the devs who put a lot of effort into this project; be affected by this drama.
  2. Fear not. The devs have said that PoE1 was more dark than they intended. Animancy being the bane of all Eora was apparent in many PoE 1 quests, and they are going to show its good sides in Deadfire. We won't have Hollowborns all over, and no trees full of corpses. I expect the tone of this game to be much lighter, but serious when it needs to be. I don't think it will be goofy like NWN2 OC could be, but it won't be as dark as the PoE1. Though some PoE1 companions may have some negative outcomes if they make an appearance... that depends largely on how you left them in PoE1 and if they even show up. Thank you! This is reassuring to hear.
  3. I hope this game is good. I never liked Baldur's Gate 2, it was very depressing and sad for me. My favorite companion Imoen went from,"Heya, It's me Imoen your frrriiieeennd!" To "Everything sucks, Life sucks, I am depressed :(". The loss of Jaheira's Husband was just cruel, also the torture that Imoen, minsc, and Jaheira had to go through was just evil! Baldur's Gate 2 took such a nasty and depressing turn. Now I'm not saying it was a bad game or anything; I'm just saying that I disliked the overly depressing tone. Baldur's Gate 1 had so much charm and humor to it. For example the stupid NPCs' and their bombastic quotes; My favorties," I serve the Flamming Fist!" Or " Heya Heya Heya Heya". I have feeling that Pillars of Eternity 2 is going to be depressing, I just hope it isn't THAT depressing. Anyways sorry for the rant.
  4. Heya all! So far I think the resting system in Deadfire is far superior than the one in Pillars. Let me explain, The resting system in the first one caused so much unnecessary downtime, and boredom. It's one thing to leave a dungeon every once in a while, but it is another thing to buy camping supplies just to refresh spell costs. This wouldn't have bothered me as much, if the system was like Baldur's Gate 1. In Baldur's Gate 1 you didn't need to leave a dungeon just to buy supplies; just so you can refresh spell costs. You had infinite rests, and could rest wherever; granted you were afar from combat. Finally, I applaud them for reworking the whole health and endurance system. I felt that the original system was not as engaging as it should've been. the original system felt more like micromanaging two inconsequential bars, that didn't lead anywhere. I feel the injury system with the permadeath is far more engaging and interesting than the original one. Anyways that's just my opinion so far, though do take this with a grain of salt. I myself haven't actually played the beta; only watched videos of it.
  5. I'd rather not have a SciFi game about killing or action related stuff. I would like something new or fresh, something narrative heavy, with some interesting dialogue thrown in. Hmm let me clarify, something in the veins of planescape torment and tides of numenera. Except less focus on the killing, and more focus on the story and narrative. I know it sounds like heresy, but that's my opinion on the matter.
  6. Hello all! I have a question if you don't mind. Is it okay for me to use these custom portraits for my pillars campaign?
