The Twilek is not alive... that is a hologram... it is supposed to appear when you access the console and when you insert the datapad and say "Play back recording" but you do not have to do that... instead you can unlock to door to the academy and be one your way. Then when you go to the cave Lonna doesn't appear until you are "leaving the cave"

There is ALWAYS a red crystal on that dumb Salvager.... and I've found a few in the Jedi Enclave before...... also, on Korriban, at the footlocker, with the orange crystal in it, I have found a silver, gold, another orange, and red crystal all at once before..... :edit: Or By the power of Kotor Game Save editor...... She should be in there with the other thugs...... did you look for her in there? Or did she just not show up at all? If not then you will have to load an earlier game save....
