  1. I don't know if ANYBODY goes to the Paradox site anymore, no one responds to anything, it's a dead site as far as I'm concerned. As far as getting the Deadfire Pack for consoles, I don't know if it's such a good idea now, the Deadfire Pack for PCs was really buggy, a lot of the items don't work properly (if you read this thread thoroughly and other Deadfire Pack threads).
  2. Depends on your difficulty (Hard or PoTD)? That's about right for a real challenge but doable on Hard difficulty. However, Cragholdt Bluff (which doesn't scale) is very difficult if you are not level 12 or higher. I did Cragholdt at level 10 on Hard and reaped immense rewards but most find it impossible below level 12. Note that the loot does not scale, it's always the same (with randomness for similar items). Check out this thread in this same board: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/81361-appropriate-level-for-cragholdt-bluff-white-march/
  3. All of the side quests in Ondra's Gift must be accomplished first before the ACT II main quests, otherwise you will miss out on them, they will be lost forever. Also in ACT II, you'll miss out on each of the 3 factions' quests if you picked one faction and completed all of their quests without visiting the other factions.
  4. I have to concur with what everyone's mentioned, however I will add 3, all Kickstarters: 1) Divinity Original Sin I & II 2) Darkest Dungeon 3) Grim Dawn
  5. Turn off the AI for all of the characters you want to manually control, they won't move once combat starts. Do you know how to turn off the AI?
  6. When was this update? There was an update for the PS4 system software (not the game) but again I don't think it took hours. I haven't had an update for the game for a long time now; I check for new updates every time I start and quit the game. If you have a good save game before the update, I would save those saved games off somewhere then reinstall the game or go the technical support board at the Paradox site where they handle the console technical support. Here at Obsidian it is only for the PC version.
  7. More news for console users: Divinity Original Sin 2 (DOS2) will be released on PS4 and Xbox in August 2018. What does this have to do with PoE? Well I'm not going to ignore the fact that these two games have been in development-complement-parallel since 2012 and I have been following both very closely. This dove-tails nicely with my progression through these games as I will be finishing PoE on the PS4 when DOS2 is released. I should be finishing DOS2 right around the time PoE2 is released on consoles. This is a good time to be an RPG'er! https://www.gamespot.com/articles/divinity-original-sin-2-getting-big-changes-on-ps4/1100-6459002/
  8. I play PoE with the PS4 and I am able to change the portrait for my main player character, I've got all of the updates. However I've never had an update that took a few hours to download and install, so I don't know what you're talking about there. Remember you can only change the portrait of a character you created, NOT an npc's like Aloth or Durant.
  9. Here we are 6 months later talking about PoE2: Deadfire, when it will be released on consoles is not yet known. However you can pre-order it for consoles so, hopefully holiday season 2018. Another one I'm hoping makes the consoles soon is DOS2, another Kickstarter about 2 years ahead of Pillars; however the release of the console version of DOS2 is lagging and is not available for pre-order. You can get it on GOG I'm thinking this is all because it is overly ambitious on both parties too think they can fit their overly ambitious sequels onto the same console. YES personal computers (pc) grow in maturity (consoles don't), and YES they develop these games on the best possible hardware which can change from day-to-day... yet most customers have not upgraded to their extent so the game just literally sucks on minimum requirement machines. My favourite example is Morrowind when it came out for the pc, I loved it later when I re-installed it on the same machines it was developed on, they don't tell you that, but as the end user I have live with it.
  10. It seems to me that the use of a cipher's Stasis Shell would work beautifully if you can get the cipher's focus up to 80 70, that way you can put Llengrath out of the battle for 30 seconds. Getting the focus up to 80 70 though, that would require getting a shot or two in before you can cast Stasis Shell. Defensive Mindweb would be great if you could get to cast that one too, but that's a lot of shots the cipher would have to make before casting them and the damage by Llengrath would already be done by then, too late for this battle's purposes. Has anyone tried the Stasis Shell approach? Edit: Stasis Shell takes 70 focus points (not 80 of course)! And you can get the duration up near 30 seconds with high INT. Update: The battle ended up being fairly easy for me at level 16 Hard difficulty. A lot of buffing before the battle (e.g. the dragon meat dish all-round), debuffing, Wall Of Colours among other high level spells by my priest and wizard did the trick. Did not use Stasis Shell nor Defensive Mindweb at all.
  11. I'm waiting for the console release because for any console release, the game must be pretty solid. I don't mind waiting, I started PoE1 in September 2017 and have been taking my time getting through it on my PS4; it is astoundingly beautiful via the PS4 graphics processor on my Sony Bravia. By the time the holiday season rolls around when console versions are purported to be released, the bugs should be ironed out. If the console release is delayed, there are other games on my docket such as DOS2. Bon voyage and thank you all of you Kickstarter contributors for making this game possible.
  12. What level are you and which difficulty are you playing? Have you tackled Cragholdt yet?
  13. PoE 2: Deadfire about to be released in 5 days on PC! I haven't finished PoE1 yet on the PS4; going through White March 2 now, then I'll finish Act II; now at Level 15 on Hard. Beautiful game, I forget to mention that, sometimes I'll just zoom in and zoom out and look around, every set is wonderfully crafted, especially nice on a big screen with the PS4 processor. By the time Deadfire comes out on consoles, I'll be ready for it so I'm in no particular rush.
  14. Yes, lvl 11 and got 12th level right after defeating Concelhault (on second try). I defeated Baelorin at level 10 (Hard difficulty), left Cragholdt and did some Act II quests, then went back to Cragholdt at level 11. I got to the 12th level after defeating Concelhaut like you did (on 1st try).
  15. Good work, I'd like one of a Ranger with his face having a scar from an arrow that grazed his face.
  16. Yes that was what I thought you meant, not too many people mention this little march to the castle but yes, I was level 11 too and it wasn't easy. So? You were level 11 (PoTD, I was on Hard) when conquering this area? That's awesome, you are a Phenomenum!
  17. Is Counceloth you mention the stronghold at Cragholdt Bluff? Everybody seems to have their "Waterloo" in this game, with the dragons for me it may have been a mental block however, after defeating the Capt. Baelorin, getting from that battle location to the castle entrance DID present some complications yes!
  18. No please I am not looking to show any game prowess over anybody else, everyone takes their own path through the game, that's the beauty of it. My ineptness at how to travel around the map made me think I had to do Cragholdt first, it wasn't what the steward said, I heard her say I should level up more. White March map was available to travel to the whole time (after WM showed up on the map); on the PS4 version I didn't see the option below the map for WM. Instead I saw on the map Cragholdt and then White March further east, and I couldn't arrow over to White March, but I could to Cragholdt from Cad Nua. So that's why I thought I had to go there first. It took me a while to complete the whole Cragholdt map, I'm not saying it was easy; it also took a lot of time at level 10. It helped me learn a LOT about the mechanics of the game and it's battle system. So this expertise helped me out tremendously in defeating the Adra dragon too and getting through all of WM1 (except I haven't fought the Alpine dragon yet). I'm a relative newcomer to this game but not to this style of game, I have played all of the Bioware series, Divinity OS. I am lucky enough to have you wonderful people who funded and played the game 3 years ago to read up on bugs and info (I didn't read spoilers until after I had done something). Thank you for the Kickstarter and getting this game made! Update: Just killed the Alpine Dragon, it took 3 tries at level 14 on Hard difficulty. Treacherous battle, had to keep moving around to get away from ole' Frostbreath. No real cheesing going on, just a lot of moving around and buffs and debuffs. If there was any cheesing, it was the Twin Stones scroll, but only twice. Now on to finish Durgan's Battery and thus all of the White March 1.
  19. I like the music in the game (although the battle music gets grating), but if you could have some choices at the Inns such as Mother Goose by Jethro Tull would be excellent. I'm sure there's several other suggestions.
  20. I got the message but I didn't take heed at level 10 and I'm all the better for it (got the achievement, tons of loot, new spells, and experience to prove it). Immersion breaking? Nah, nobody is ever in a perfectly balanced area, where you're supposed to be w.r.t. your level and the "area level." If the game allows it, I'm gonna do it and I'm gonna try it, if that's immersion breaking then go play your perfect game (I don't think it exists). Also, just defeated The Master Below (Adra dragon); it turns into an easy battle when you use the stand-off approach, only used the paralyze scroll once at the coup-de-grace stage. The whole party was Level 13 on Hard difficulty. I think that was the recommended level (13) for taking on this beast so it was a politically correct battle .
