Just got Dead Space on Xbox and it’s a pretty legit remake. It makes the original look like a ps2 game.

2080ti vs dual 4090s

Finished off the space heater build with some final upgrades for the year. This combo is so power hungry it's stupid, CPU and GPU pushing 400w+ each when maxed out. Reminds me of the triple SLI days...
Intel i9 13900KF @ 6GHz
Zotac RTX 4090 @ 3GHz
Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master
32GB G.Skill TridentZ5 DDR5 6400
2x Samsung 980 Pro 2TB Gen 4 NVMe
Corsair RM1000e
Hyte Y60 case
48” Gigabyte FO48U OLED

I liked Odyssey better as well

That could be the case, there's a lot of random cpu spikes for no reason in all of those demos that are out. I tried this new ue5.1 implementation of the City Sample demo and appears to be more optimized than the others and performance is a bit better

Maybe devs are waiting for hardware to get better. I mean nothing can handle UE5 at epic nanite in 4K, even the 4090 struggles at 15fps in the forest demo with those settings. This engine needs next next gen hardware, (like a 6080 or a PS7) in order to see this thing at full potential

Found this ancient thing hanging out in storage. Maybe I can put together a Windows XP Retro Box

We need an Oblivion remake

I'm hearing that DDR5 @ 7200+ appears to be luck of the draw at the moment, even when the dimms are spec'd out for it, and using the z790 chipset

Thinking of switching to DDR 5, will games be faster?
-
Yeah we just need more open standards and not have graphics features locked to one gpu vendor

I played the 3 purely raytraced games, which are Minecraft, Quake 2, and Portal. The biggest differences from rasterized games is that the lighting is pretty much the real deal, and you can have an infinity number of lights, and they all realistically alter the scene. No doubt it is the future of gaming, tech just needs to evolve so it's not so expensive to process

Nice easter egg
Game seems to be hardcoded to run at 4K max, anything past that insta-crashes. DLSS 3 is also enabled by default and is pretty much required, as it lags at native res

I used to glitch dupe the expensive paintings in earlier builds of the game, still got millions of them stashed

I’m familiar with halls and encoders in robotics, when I’m calibrating industrial servos. Interesting they brought that tech to game controllers
I’m still stuck with this awkward dude. Should probably upgrade so I can be more comfortable playing Pokémon

Sim City 2K with the future tileset
Flying through the same city imported to Sim Copter
Can also drive though the same city if imported to Streets of Sim City

@LadyCrimsonYes it’s the Hyte Y60. It’s a nice affordable case that kind of resembles fancy furniture. Many people say it looks like a fish tank
The 4090 is one chonky boi, it’s kind of goofy how big it is
Adapter seems to be working ok, just make sure it’s fully seated and that it clicks into place. I still want the cablemod cable though
Performance is great so far. This is the first true 8K card; every game I tried so far runs good maxed out in 8K, even Cyberpunk (except if you use psycho raytracing, then it’s only smooth with 8K + DLSS). 16K is semi playable, 30-40fps in older games like GTA 5.
Biggest drawback is only having Displayport 1.4, I mean 8K 240hz will only be possible with DP 2.1

I hope Bokishi is okay.
Haha, yeah Zotac got a sample out to me and I actually been sitting on this for awhile, deciding if I should install it now, or wait for my cablemod adapter to arrive. I mean the 3080ti is still plenty fast and not a fire hazard

Cyberpunk just got the new DLSS 3 frame generation. It allows psycho raytracing in 4K @ 140fps. However those aren't real frames which is weird, and input latency goes up
