Here's some random ideas for where the missing characters are and what they're doing: Revan and Bastila: Investigating mysterious ruins on Korriban. Missing for some time. Juhani and Jolee: Helping to rebuild the Jedi Academy on Dantooine. Carth: Rebuilding his shattered life on Telos with Dustil. Canderous: Rejoined the Mandalorians at Malachor. T3 and HK: On the Ebon Hawk. Duh. Mission: Now 19 years old, kidnapped by slavers and sold to the Hutts as a dancer. You have to buy her back on Nar Shaddaa. Zaalbar: Easily manipulated by the Sith to be the bounty hunter chasing you. With Bacca's Blade, of course. Anyway, I just made those up on the spot. Any other ideas?

That's true. But since several of these worlds (notably Manaan, Malachor, Telos) were invented for KOTOR, they wouldn't be on a regular Star Wars starmap.

A lot of the planets in the KOTOR series have been long abandoned or ruined by the time of A New Hope, such as Taris, Telos, Korriban, Malachor, etc.

Random idea: the controversial Bastila/Malak screenshot is not on Korriban, but on Dxun, in the cursed tomb of Freedon Nadd. They are force hallucinations he's conjured to torment/test you. Again, only a random passing thought.
