Another idea!
I saw a screen shot of the Harbinger docked at the Peragus Minig Facility. I'll bet that's where you head after Peragus! There are also screenshots of Sith Assassins attacking you there, and Darth Sion makes his apprearance on the Harbinger, the ship you were on before you woke up in the kolto tank!
Just guesswork and logic, mind you!
Here's some random ideas for where the missing characters are and what they're doing:
Revan and Bastila: Investigating mysterious ruins on Korriban. Missing for some time.
Juhani and Jolee: Helping to rebuild the Jedi Academy on Dantooine.
Carth: Rebuilding his shattered life on Telos with Dustil.
Canderous: Rejoined the Mandalorians at Malachor.
T3 and HK: On the Ebon Hawk. Duh.
Mission: Now 19 years old, kidnapped by slavers and sold to the Hutts as a dancer. You have to buy her back on Nar Shaddaa.
Zaalbar: Easily manipulated by the Sith to be the bounty hunter chasing you. With Bacca's Blade, of course.
Anyway, I just made those up on the spot. Any other ideas?
One of the EU writers tried to identify Yoda as a Whill. George Lucas then dropped a train on him. He wants Yoda's origins to be a "mystery," so he will never reveal them.
Maybe Atris becomes corrupted and is the third Sith Lord. Then you have to defeat her and turn her back to the lightside. Gee. That doesn't sound like KOTOR at all.
I bow down to Darth Gandalf's enormous Hard Drive. It's something I will aspire for mighty Gandalf! When I get some more money.

It's a good ol' Alienware Area 51.
ATA RAID 0 Configuration of 4 125 MB drives.
Probably not soon enough before you have the game in your hands.

Even for us poor PC users? I guess we'll probably just feed off the spoiler scraps from all the XBox users.
I have a 500 Gigabyte Hard Drive, so I never have to delete anything. I've got something like 25 games on it at the moment. Pity I don't have time to play any of them.
As for KOTOR II, well for that sort of thing you make time, right?
I think we've all just assumed that Disciple can be trained, since he's wearing Jedi-esque robes and is called "Disciple," a name evokative of participation in some sort of religious/philosophical organization. Like the Jedi and the Sith.
Think about your new party.
In addition to your 5 Jedi, you have a Mandalorian, a Wookiee, and an HK Droid, some of the deadliest, most potent individuals in all the galaxy.
And your Zabrak, Scoundrel and T3 droid are okay too.
Well, the game has been made so that you will use more characters. They wanted to avoid the "only use Revan, Bastila, Jolee and Juhani" problem of KOTOR I.
I just personal messaged him. Dead easy.
One another interesting thing about Jedi in your party.
Women outnumber men three to one. In KOTOR it was two to one. Maybe the devs have a thing for powerful hot chicks.

Jedi Saber Colors:
the Exile - Whatever you want
Kreia - Green/Turquoise
Visas Marr - Red/Orange
Handmaiden - White/Silver
Disciple - I assume Fecal Brown or something
What does this mean for their character classes?
As far as the Bastila/Malak shot, Chris Avellone told me that he can't say anything about it, which probably means it's more than nothing.
That's true. But since several of these worlds (notably Manaan, Malachor, Telos) were invented for KOTOR, they wouldn't be on a regular Star Wars starmap.
Random idea:
the controversial Bastila/Malak screenshot is not on Korriban, but on Dxun, in the cursed tomb of Freedon Nadd.
They are force hallucinations he's conjured to torment/test you.
Again, only a random passing thought.
