  1. I was particularly surprised to see Jediphile pull this argument out...
  2. Who is he to say that people are playing the other games "the wrong way?"
  3. I think story is important though, because if done well it can induce an emotional response.
  4. I haven't been taking screenshots...but then I realized I could just go back and take some from the previous postings without too much difficulty.

    Nope.
  6. If most people play console games, then wouldn't it make sense for most of the retail space to be occupied by console games? I would imagine that the decisions to reduce the size of the PC game shelfspace is not because they feel that they should NOT do what they feel the people want.

This of course assumes Steen is still playing for the Leafs in 10 years. And that Pronger would only be interested in playing for 4 years. The thing I noticed last season, was that whoever was paired with Pronger, was easily our second best defensemen. You could probably put him on a pairing with Wade Belak, and suddenly Belak will be a good defensemen. For us this season, Bergeron, Spacek, and Smith all played their best hockey when paired up with Pronger. He really does seem to be one of those "make your teammates better" type players. I guess it always depends on what you feel the upside of the younger player is. And whether or not you think he can actually get to it.

Meh. Pronger took an Edmonton team to the Finals. At 31, I really wouldn't consider him a dinosaur either. You'd also have him for 4 more years. His style of play doesn't seem to be all that reliant on being exceptionally speedy and relying on raw athleticism. I wouldn't be surprised if he remains a solid player for a further 8-10 years.
  9. He had already started a thread on this here
  10. That's purely because it's a console game! Not a game that was rushed to make a quick buck!
  11. The high level guns are very, very effective. Plus you can get mountains of ammo for them. For much of the game I used the anaconda as my long range "sniper rifle." The 'Jaime Sue' is a oneshot kill weapon if you use it when zoomed in, and the Steyr AUG is great for supernatural beasties. Toss in the Desert Eagle (don't remember what the game name is for it) and even the Glock (can't remember its name either) and you can be decked out with an impressive arsenal.
  12. I'd be much more willing to concede that Lockdown was made as a quick cash-in to get more out of the franchise. But hey, you have to try to bash consoles some how right?

I think the fact that Edmonton had faith in him as a #1 would help them sign Roloson. I haven't heard that Roloson is interested in Toronto, but I have heard that Toronto is interested in Roloson. But Toronto just acquired Andrew Raycroft, so who knows.
  14. I hated Q2 MP compared to Q1 MP.
  15. Little things like that mean nothing. It's clearly a console dumb down.

Well, Al Strachan is notorious for having tons of bogus rumours. I didn't believe it either. Strachan was also talking about how Pronger's contract is too much to handle and whatnot.

Probably to even up the playing field?
  19. Well, of the ones that I've played, Eve Online is probably the closest that I have seen. Though I have only done trial memberships for all of them except for WoW.
  20. Actually, I bet many don't.
  21. We don't hop blind. We went exactly into every movie that we planned on going to see. We use http://www.edmovieguide.com which is conveniently a movie guide for the Edmonton area. From there, we plan our movie adventure out. It may have been possible for us to catch 5 movies without missing any part of any movie, but at the same time we also have some movies that we want to see.
  22. How many MMO games don't have a static world?
  23. Fair enough. I was operating under the assumption that people enlisting in the military would stay in for a while, and that's not necessarily good. Also, doesn't Israel receive it's fair share of financial aid from the United States? So how is it determined that someone doesn't enlist because they are a coward?
  24. With the big megaplexes, it's almost too easy. My roommate and I can watch movies no problem, and one day we were board and successfully got in 5 movies. Of course it usually means seeing a crap movie as filler. We didn't quite see all of Boogeyman, but we got the gist of the movie. Maybe missed the first 20 minutes. Off the top of my head, we saw Million Dollar Baby, Hitch, Boogeyman, some other thriller, and ended with Hide & Seek. We just did the 5 to see if we could one up the 4 we did a long time ago. The Mummy Returns, Crocodile Dundee in LA (haha, lameo thriller...though my roommate had never seen any of the dundee movies so all the old recycled jokes were new for him), and then One Night at McCool's.
  25. How would forcing people into armed service remove their cowardice though? Wouldn't they still be showing it once they immediately get out of the armed service once their mandatory time has been served? How is it any different than someone that chooses not to enlist in a volunteer army?
