  1. Yep. RP = pen and paper. Oral, with friends. High liberty, creativity. RPG = game with creation of a character + go to a univers preformatted. At best, two/three predetermined choice. This approach of the concept of RP, its not RP. Vampire the masquerade REDEMPTION -in multi- with MD (Master of the game in english ?), match with this vision of Real RP.
  2. With this explanation, Lengrath could use teleportation for escape during the fight (if we choose the fight) : p Like you say, its a computer game, So, its not RP. So... The choice the more dangerous, Requesting more talent, must be make the best reward. = The permanent bonus. Anyway, its not a major problem, because after this combat, the scales or this permanent bonus become useless.
  3. My definition of Role Play : Liberty to play MY role. Not the role imposed by game. My role is : i want to scam Lengrath (Balthazar is a character "traitor"). Promise to exchange the known data (THE bonus^^), and betray behind just after that (For the battle). Here it is impossible : All this people disappears at once ... So no, I am not free to interpret the role I want. A fade to black (magical disappears) is not very role play... RP : With 10+ in athletics and 20+ in dexterity, they can normally not escape me.
  4. What is the kind of object who boost the damage critique ? The +0.5 of weapons (Sabra marie for exemple) works with the dragon thrash ?! I try to use The Unlabored Blade [WM2] + a small shield. It is a good choice ? because there is : 10 % chance of cast firebug. With the low dex, i think its good idea. What is your point of view ?
  5. Seriously, this battle is the real last. (Kraken is... lol so easy, its shame) So, 4 or 2 scales... Its useless. Sceptenar > No I love RP But it's called the challenge. At one point, you want to test your build with an "ultimate" battle. I personally want courroner my part with this battle , so I will avoid (unfortunately) this bonus, for my future new game. RP is RP, this game is not RP. RP = I should be able to make the pact with Lengrath and then kill her after that if i want. (But she magically disappears with her two creatures...) So no, its not totally RP, guys...
  6. Hello, I have a big doubt on the damage of Sabra marie on critic. 0.5 = 50 % damage critic ? + 0.3 of white forge = 30 % damage critic ? BUT... On my ranger, i do 28-30~ damage on CRIT... So, there is a problem no ? I use twin arrow and its very light. I have upgrade with +25 % burn damage. I see the +6 fire. But 30 + 6 = 36 is not enough. Its strange. Under my estimation, with the DR ennemy substracted, and the numbers of log, i should have a minimum of 40 damage without the fire damage (on crit obviously). Image 1 http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/203780Pillars1.png Image 2 http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/306545Pillars2.png According to my calculations , the minimum damage , should be 46-6 = 40 against 31 here. What is the value of "+0.5" exactly ?^^ Thanks.
  7. You don't understand my thought. The difference enter the two possibles situations/Résolutions for role play is a good thing. BUT...^^ This fight is hard and fantastic. Its easy to have 17 int for skip the battle, and get the TRUE real bonus. Because yes, we have a grimoire. But lol : the spells are really and truly bad... The spells of book hidden in snow was MUCH better... In an other hand, we have a permanent bonus +1 x 3 !... I think its just regrettable for me to skip this battle for this bonus, then i want to do this fight. This poses a problem of conscience. The pleasure of the best fight in this game OR get the permanent bonus .
  8. Its a true problem for this bonus. This fight is great. So I preferred to have everything... It is unfortunate that some coward will don't engage the battle, for gain the bonus and don't take a risk... Restrictive choice. there is no merit to have 17 in intelligence.
  9. For my country. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=221UWotqwdo
  10. it all depends where you want to put these weapons in terms of power. When Obsidian announced , I expected slightly more powerful weapons and unique than conventional weapons. They are more original, yes. But on side of the power... nope^^ I love Stormcaller wich is the only good soulbound, but the rest is very bad. Moreover, it is limited to three class (except one), so very restrictive on use. It must have the good class + the good talent for use the soulbound in the best conditions. Finally, these weapons are less powerful than the other . They are similar to bonuses via a Russian roulette (5 % ... 10 % ... Mouai...). This is quite disappointing . They are supposed to have style and be on top . We need to train with to discover their full potential. And in the end it is worse ? Even if there is no improvements of white forge, there is debate. But with, they are largely exceeded. We are all agree with this ? Still, I think Obsidian thought them as weapons "gold" , that stands out. That 's why I find it deceptive . If we are honest, they are inferior to others . It's like in Diablo II, the unique weapons that were less powerful magic weapons base ^^!
  11. Without white forge, we take this hypothesis. The gap is narrowing indeed. BUT^^ I prefer a stable bonus of +20 % of Speed and +10 accuracy for my allie (stable also) rather than a 10 % or 5 % of a side-effects which rarely appear. For the paralysis, the new power of magician is excellent and deal damage. (great novelty that these powers in passing. I like them, its a great and surprisingly idea) Its a real choice between the two, even without the forge !^^ (according to me of course) If in addition , there is the white forge, the weapon is far ahead, that's a fact.
  12. Achilles : With Superb quality, all of soulbound can be "great", its certain. But the real question is : better ou lower than the others weapons. With superb quality + white forge enchant, the standard unique weapons are better. Grey sleeper 10% chance to cast Paralyse on Hit or Critical Hit. 2 powers on hit that come very rarely. (5 %...) A great power named Slow spirit but "by rest". Blade of the Endless Path +35 % Attack Speed Marking: +10 Accuracy granted to an ally attacking the same target +30 % damage with critics. 20 % of hits transfo in critics. In the end game , no need to slow down the enemy, we are enough effective. So the second weapon is far far ahead... Paralysis is effectively "sexy", but rather rarely triggers . (10%)
  13. Yes, it is complicated to balanced. On one hand, if there is too much immunity it will disturb those who do not know these immunities. If one knows the weakness of the dragon, just activate the right power. This does not change the approach after all. It will just be boring. Only the petrification can change the battle (and shorten a bit). But the petrification is really only useful with the dragons (all the ennemies with much health points) On the other hand , if there is no immunity , one can ride on the dragon with debuffs , starting with repulsing seal ( trap bonus is useful). Note : remember that we are gamers, people familiar with the game and afflictions (mecanics of the game). The proper balancing wants there to be a different immunity for each dragon, a strong and unique marker, representing him. I think It is the best solution. ---- Samham : Yes i agree with you, the loot of alpine dragon is disappointing
  14. After many test, in variable configurations. I think i can confirm : Soulbound weapons are less powerfull (by far) than others ! This is not a direct problem but the most can not even reach the level of other weapons. This is a problem especially for their prestige. A weapon forged with white forge worth so much more. For the balancing, the soulbound weapons must be more powerfull. / improvable with white Forge. 10 % of paralysis is too uncertain. Too hazardous. We can not count on. The only exception is Stormcaller who have a satisfaying level But in reality not even : Lenas Er : 3 RD bypass. - 5 on all defenses +25 % electric damage. +15 % speed attack (white forge) +30 % damage on critics. (White forge) +20 % of hit transfo in critics. (White forge) = Best damage. The only exception is the very high RD of piercing damage or piercing immunity. Stormcaller : 6 RD bypass. +20 % electric damage (talent) Yes, i don't take the 5 % - 10 % of all little talents. This is not interresting. Return of the storm is cancel by the storm of my druid (power level 5) for exemple... Even the best soulbound is exceeded... The prestige relative to these weapons , takes a hit . If everyone starts to actually calculate, nobody will never use these weapons. ( a shame ) Its not a bug but a serious problem of balancing.
  15. Yes, cheat-Cipher is back. He can troll the three dragons. Disadvantage other classes. Domination and charm is normally a logical extension of frightened and terrified immunities. RP is strange. The most popular RPG describe dragons with a huge strengh mental, but now in pillars of eternity, the dragons can't fall but... ... we can convince them to go drink tea. Bravo Obsidian : p
  16. Yes, the stuck, frightened and terrified is not problem. I faced the Alpin dragon just a few minutes ago. But... Stunned / Paralyzed / Prone... Lol ! Wtf...? I beat him at the second try (the time to understand his immunities) but... without my knowledge of the game, its impossible to pass him. requires a specific team. Druid / Magician. I do a french let's play right now and I had the same thought : the rules change too often in this game.
  17. Hello guys, i have create un similar topic with the same theme, also for the dragon, but here this topic have an other fonction. Its a another bug. One bug = one topic i think ? Indeed, i proceeded to a multi test and build versus the dragons (my passion : p) And i found a bug. The english cyclopedia (the only update) talk of a the new prone immunity for all dragons (Alpine, Adra and Sky). The repulsing seal don't work, its ok (grr^^...) but the sleep call (magician level 5) don't work as it should , since it works.
  18. Yes, you can force at level 14. But in this case, its attack / attack / attack click. No more reflexion. The afflictions is don't required any more after all. Add some afflictions immunities also in this case is useless if we do not use ?^^ Why establish an affliction based strategy? If just being aggressive and most afflictions that do not pass ? This encourages aggression and no-brain in game.
  19. Overall, the game is simple. Petrification for example, it is ironic because it almost never used (don't need to go that far, the enemies die before...), except for large enemies like... dragons ... ... ! The debate is not about whether or not to add the challenge. There is no challenge to a stun power by druid for exemple, with the power of level 5. (-30 deflection, the ennemie can't move and attack : works on the two dragons.) You just have to know the immunities. So, the battle becomes more boring than difficult. AND certain option become useless. Petrification become useless for exemple. The rest of the game, except dragons, don't need petrification. It just a game where the goal become : find immunities... Only that. Break the pleasure of increment affliction. And, don't forget, the informations of the creature appear after his death or by multiplying combats. So not guessable by default .
  20. Is not the question. The interest is the gameplay and, if its congruous, the role play. The question is : "Add too much immunity is interesting or not to play ? For the gameplay ? for the variety of approach ? Without petrification without prone, it remains the stun and paralysie after all, which is not logical. Do you think you can knock (stunned affliction) a dragon ? No , it 's the same argument you use : stun is not particulary logicial also, for the two case, for the two dragons. The question is : The absence of the stun immunity is not problematic fo me. BUT the presence of prone immunity is. Two key afflictions immunities on a dragon push the people to forget certain class already low play... I think the great balacing is one, and only one affliction immunity among Petrification, stunning, paralysis and prone. More, its too much. Its only my opinion. With two immunity, if i have a plan with prone and petrification, the time i have to understand nothing work, i will must reload. You speak of the body of the dragon. But overthrow him is just something that should be possible given its weight. No ? Ultimately, the sky dragon can jump, It is recognized that this immunity has meaning. But the dragon adra is cumbersome and must be difficult to manage his weight when he prone, if it collapses. The immunity on this occasion is strange and not legit.
  21. Perfect distribution. BUT... need micro and prone or/and stun. Its complicated at the start but with prone level 2 (repulsing seal) of two priest : its ok. Warning : A little mistake and the death come very fast. With more level = break the game.
  22. Hello guys, In 2.03, the two dragon have absurd immunity. I understand the immunity to the prone for Sky Dragon, because he can jump and fly. Its credible. BUT Why the dragon adra immune to the trap prone ? It is expected that a dragon , given its weight, is sensitive to prone trap. There is too much immunity I think... At the same time , some troubles are favored in not being immunity , and in both cases. Stunned in particular. Work on both. Favoring certain classes. This removes ways of approaching the fight. Only one way, promoting aggressive side of the game (attack...). And I think that is unfortunate. One boring immunity : yes (Among Petrification, Prone, Stun). But more, it gets too invasive. Adra Dragon : Petrification is a great choice and Role play (Shell of adra etc). Sky Dragon : Prone is a great choice. (Jump and fly easy, flexibility of the beast etc.). But no more immunity, One and only one. That's just my opinion^^ EDIT : In all the case, the french descriptions of two dragons (bestiary) not mention the immunities.
  23. Hello guys, I tried to understand how the charm work. Clarification is needed : Most people say it is normal for the suppress afflictions don't work on the charm because this is an ennemy. I understand that point of view , actually , if the ally unit enters enemy, we can no longer debuff . BUT ... in this case , it should be the same for Domination . However, this is not the case. Domination can be suspended by Supress affliction. So, after these two topics of " build" (one is mine) for understand the problem : http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/83052-supress-affliction-dont-work-on-charm/ http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/76589-damn-enemy-charm-spell/ I try now the approach "bug". Does charm is buggy ? or is it that this has been thought of as such by developers. It's a question that intrigues me ^^ The charm is difficult to counter before the level 11+, for most teams . So, it is interresting to know.
  24. Before level 11+ : With 97 of accuracy for Fampyr, its difficult to resist with a +25 of Priest+chanter. (If we have a chanter in the team... I don't like them : p ) Personnaly, my team have an average of 62 of willpower. (3 resolve, 19 intelligence) 62+25 = 87. 97 versus 87. The charm will pass a major part of time, with hit or critical.
  25. Ok but, why supress affliction on domination work perfectly in this case ? Its very strange. Domination = Control total by ennemi. The character is not a allie also in this case.
