For starters: what is the point of the soulbound weapons, they are clearly far weaker then upgraded weapons you can make with enchanting and durgan steel ect...
1. The holy redeemer is ok for taking out vessels
2. The night shroud is an absolute joke, procs a blind every 10 hits or so
3. Grey sleeper is ok, but on on par with blade of endless paths (if not upgraded)
4. The rest Aren't even worth mentioning.
5. The hunting bow doesn't justify selecting a ranger as all you can do is use the bow. Id rather a caster anyway.
So basically no good unique weapons to collect.

Typing in all caps is troll behavior. You really need to knock it off if you want people to take you seriously around here (and frankly, you should know this without my telling you.)
FACT:
If you had spent your time googling instead of typing exclamation marks, you would have found this, for example, where QA confirm that the proc is intended to only destroy vessels of lower level then the sword's wielder. Or this, saying the same before PX1 was even released (as I mentioned.)
FACT:
If you had addressed your concern to a designer in a civil manner, you would have received the following answer in a very short time:

I'll stop calling troll when you stop behaving like one. Posting a thousand exclamation marks and vocally complaining about an item that is working as designed isn't doing you any favors.
That the proc would only destroy vessels of equal or lower level than the wielder was known since before PX1's release. When PX1 released, it unsurprisingly behaved exactly like that, and it still does.
If that disturbs you, ping Josh on Twitter or QA in the tech forum to request a change (but frankly I don't see it coming.)

Please keep in mind this is all played on POTD.
you basically cant play a rogue any more. he basically dies straight away every battle.
The game AI has improved and the immunities have completely changed the mechanics of it. Not a bad thing really just a challenge.
On POTD you NEED 2 tanks either a fighter or a paladin. you are wasting your time with rogues and barbs you will constantly be resurrecting them. your other 4 characters should be spells casters and you really need to no how to use your spells, Ciphers and priests are the most important.
The new AI is very efficient at wrecking your weakest players..
Cant wait to beet the game, my tactics will be with 2 tanks and reeling using spells to the potential.
Rogues and barbs are now obsolete on POTD. unless you want to keep resurrecting and healing them non stop. chanters ect not even worth talking about.

It only should destroy lower lvl enemies and enemies of equal lvl should just receive dmg.
please show me a thread confirming this. it clearly says 25% chance of destroying vessels on hit or crit

In that aspect the games resembles to Dark Souls, basically the "classes" are just what gear & stuff you start with, later on you can be whatever you want to be, if PoE wants to be that fine, but it would be better for it to remove all classes and just give the player to chose the gear & abilities he wants to start with, why bother creating classes if they mean nothing.

Pillars of Eternity has a loading screen; in that aspect the game resembles Super Mario Bros.

He understands perfectly fine because he knows the difference between the words "tedious" and "difficult" whereas you seem to think that they are synonymous. I agree that you should speak slowly, but only because if you go slow enough you might catch your errors before hitting the reply button.
In this case, Boerer clearly said that the task was 'tedious' which means monotonous; and often implies simplicity in repetition. How you managed to confuse that with "difficult" is (ironically) quite tedious, in the 'slow or dull' aspect of its definition.
Well where all glad you sorted that out for us. Are you sure you don't want to write a few more hundred words? Your last explanation was a bit short.

@brindle. Please read before commenting. Boeroer did not say he struggled just that it was tedious, presumably because of the micromanaging involved which with 6 rogues is considerably more than with one....
Regarding which classes are most powerful, well while there are some overpowered builds, Obs have done a far better job than the good old ie games. There is no equivalent of the good old Kensai/Mage. And all of the classes can be overpowered built properly. Just look at the build forum.

If your new to the game your going to have to get your head around the builds and mechanics.Hi,
I'm new to this game. I prefer melee builds in these games and noticed that almost every build- barbarians and paladins- seems to stress AoE damage. They all really push intelligence for that reason.
Is AoE a core function of this game? In playing all the Baldur's Gate games I rarely used AoE spells or attacks....
Just trying to see if AoE is pretty much the way you have to go to be effective, or if many people play single-target DPS builds?

Coming onto this forum and asking questions can be helpful, though a lot of the users here will just give you answers that relate to what they like best.
For example if you made a post on this forum titled " what is the most powerful class " you will get various and contradicting responses from users saying that basically every class is the most powerful class. They will just say the class they like best.
To answer your op: generally melee classes don't focus on AOE. You have suggested that barbarians and paladins do, paladins get that aoe flame ability quite late in the game that is very powerful though they are still a single target dps dealer. Barbarians have carnage which applies secondary damage to mobs. On POTD most creatures have a min DR of 12 that will make the carnage worthless. People on here may tell you otherwise because they like barbarians but I have tried them about 10 times and I can't make them work on POTD.

I once played a party of six rogues (=greatest single target damage dealers) - turned out to be doable, but veeery tedious. I would always say that not AoE damage, but AoE cround control is the key to an easy playthrough. But in general, it's the mix and the synergies that count. And good tactics of course.
You struggled with 6 rogues ?
I can beat the game with one rogue on POTD.

I agree with the op and I have raised this issue many times.
Every class being able to use ranged weapons (including firearms) makes the ranged specialist classes redundant IMO.
I think he talking from a role playing perspective though. I also agree on this point.

As soon as wm2 is released I'm going to replay the whole game, perhaps the last play through for a long time.
I would like if people could share there best experiences with there play throughs so I can perhaps implement them in my play through if I want. I want information that will increase my fun factor.
If you guys could share your best experiences you had fun with involving builds, synergies, item combinations, role playing or whatever else you can think of that would be greatly appreciated.

I know that wm2 is getting released in January and I don't know much else. Obsidian have basically no details about it on there website apart from a new barbarian companion will be available and they have shown some artwork on vithraks.
Am I missing something here? If the expansion is getting release in basically 3-4 weeks time why is there no information of its contents?
If anyone knows anything about the expansion can hey fill me in? Eg new weapons, areas, spells, content?

To do that properly, say an equivelant of warcraft 4 inside pillars of eternity would require a massive budget. Probably 10 million plus, minimum.
Your approaching mega gaming projects here, gta5 had a budget of tens of million from memory. Not as big as that but still would require a massive budget to do that properly.
