  1. Oblivion didnt look much better on mine till I got it up to 1gb ram. I don't really mind.
  2. Why are you confident that anybody can defeat a crippled, poor, small nation before it presses a single button?
  3. Starting to sound more like a small town than a village. Pompeii-style.
  4. I was playing Lego Star Wars II, and these jabba minions were rockin' with geetars to a rock remix of vader theme. Uh, yeah. In NWN1 you could just Save As, then find it in misc modules. I'm not sure if that does anything to your inter-chapter progress, however.
  5. Well, you have to have SOMEWHERE to wash that blood out of your undergarments.
  6. Kreia was love/hate, and it's Volourn, so.
  7. "Judea!"?
  8. Sausage production?
  9. Nah, that's what I meant. So you can't go up the slope on the east side? Probably irks a little when playinig, but I can see why it's that way. Looks great so far.
  10. Oerwinde, a question: is there a way for the player to walk across the easternmost part of that 'circle' of houses? Otherwise if you wanted to go from one house to the house directly north of it you'd have to go all around the lake. Now I'm all for aestheticity in villages (and I love it), but a way to just hedge past the trees or wahtnot there would be good IMO. Apparently the Undo button works, just not for certain things, such as terrain placements. Not sure if it can be "enabled" in your version.
  11. See, there you go.
  12. It's not about what it's supposed to represent or juxtapose, no matter what the reason its twinkles just hurt. Anyway, moving on: with the purpled robe, the golden amulet becomes rather superimposed, which is especially noticeable in the more medium shot the stars one has, so that it looks like it's hanging in the air. Not sure how to fix that though. The face is great, and on closer inspection I'd probably prefer the non-stars version also for the fact that its 'zoom' is perfect for it.
  13. 2 hours bug-free isn't really reassuring, but at least the known errors in installation, etc, have apparently been fixed.
  14. Personally the twinkly twinkly stars kill it entirely, and I would always prefer the earlier version. But then, everyone else might love it.
  15. Pop is on the right track. There is an automatic assumption that without a soul Irenicus becomes apathetic to all things, and therefore would nto care about anything - if that was the case he would really be a vegetable man, only reacting in the face of physical pain that he would 'care' about, basic needs, etc. Just an animal. Not a great villain there. Remember than fantasy wise we are dealing with the elven spirit. Irenicus did not lose his entire soul. Irenicus only lost the elven spirit, that connection elves have with all things nature and all that crap. He was, effectively, made a human. He lost what was elf but retained the more base parts of the mind and the body. The body he could sustain for an extended period of time through his magics; the mind, too, he could restore to a degree with the Bhaalspawn soul. Just because he had to take YOUR soul, does not mean that he had no soul whatsoever and it was a pure substitute. If that was the case, the outcome would have been rather different. Especially to your character. You could argue this is convoluted, or this is unrealistic, but it's all on what you decide your perspective to be. If you lean towards accepting these plot requirements then I find Irenicus to be an good, if not the best, villain. Because resting upon t hese foundations that could be incessantly picked at, but need not be, he is attractive in his ruthlessness, his plans are not quite as retardedly far-fetched (and involving Super Artifact of Doom you must get) as some others, does not destroy all world as they know it (just one city, which I find to be much more relevant), and he has a very attractive style of dialogue made even better by the fine voice acting. I liked the potential in Sarevok, but judging on the game itself - at least, BG1 only - he was not as good as Irenicus because you could never flesh out his character as much. That, and I don't believe irenicus was blinded by anything. He knew exactly what he wanted and why he wanted it. Remember that revenge was not his only aim; to refuse it and live normally was to accept a 'lesser' life than he had known and for his pride and his greatest ability in his life to be curbed. It's rather similar to a war general losing any right to command armies. On the other hand, Sarevok was clearly manipulated by Bhaal to concoct a ridiculous scheme that was not even guaranteed to succeed (afaik).
  16. (You ask Darque for explanation?!) This is the same problem as the henchman, I think it's a very silly feature by IGN to try and milk some hype out with these little 'character snippets'. Character of all things should not be limited to such snippets because as we can see.. edit: also, I'd say having no frickin soul is a pretty big 'issue'. If you call that whiney then that's like saying "hey, we all know your mom died yesterday, stop the waterworks and get over it". Cynical trivialism doesn't always work.
  17. You know, the Stone of Recall? It occurs to me that usually all RPG enemies have the Stone of Recall, not the protagonist. So they go *wink* just as you're about to kill them. Seriously. In NWN all the heroes are total ****. "I'm losing so kthxbye."
  18. And if you rip off something that's already chronically retarded..
  19. Wonder if we can mod it away for the OC. Or if main character dies = all over, like BG. Although that could be rationalised in that game because your bhaalspawn essence would render resurrection an impossibility a la Sarevok, by the destruction of the physical body.
  20. He doesn't want to buy the game at full price and he doesn't want to give them the amount of support a first week purchase entails? Although, if you are happy with getting a game months later in the bargain bin, I don't see why the toolset thing induced a preorder in the first place.
  21. The industry is experiencing a general sheep shortage due to hoarding.
  22. Yeah, just found out, as you see above. At least we won't be disappointed in the visual representation, IMO.
  23. Has anyone seen the brilliant Sigil remake someone did on the toolset? I'll try and dig it up. found some, the best one is down right now but http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c288/Sha...erview-Keep.jpg Turns out that it's t he Purgatorio lead designer. Figures.
  24. Or if they succeed, it'll go directly into the lake..
  25. Nobody will stalk you if you are asian, because your name sounds funnay. But then, I flew 10,000 miles to US then promptly visited a net buddy, so.
