  1. Just in case anyone is still following this project - I've uploaded the new site. You can access it here.
  2. As your friendly bearer of all things M4-78 related: One of the masters says that with a massive shift in a point of view the bond can be broken, to my memory - or with a view being shattered. This is what happened with Kreia.
  3. It will be done within the next 10 000 years, most likely the first half of that time span.
  4. Didn't I just give you an update? I must be going mad... Someone at Holowan wanted an update too: Please note that I will only issue updates when I have something interesting to show you... the film I gave is not exactly interesting, just something to... give you.
  5. Umm, we'll look into an Xbox mod. Right now, it is just for PC. Once it is done: we'll take a look. Let's not drive this thread off topic with Microsoft bashing.
  6. 1) The manner in which Darkwarrior did it was not the manner in which I wanted it. 2) I did not have access to the source code, nor the completed files that Darkwarrior released. 3) I wouldn't feel comfortable editing something that someone else made without their express permission. 4) The original was not cinematic enough for my tastes - as a writer and photographer, I cannot stand bad timing and camera angles.
  7. Because I'm mean and they have to .
  8. Wooo! Pictures! Pictures from the Nihilus vs. Sion scene: You can't get a sense of the cinematics from the pictures quite simply because all the cameras in it are animated. The scene is essentially unfinished (A lot of the visual effects have yet to be implemented) but I thought this was an opportunity for a shameless plug as well as a bit of education in the realms of cut content. Oh and damn it! I just reinstalled K2 so Nihilus no longer does all of his explosion effects . I obviously didn't commit the finsihed .2da to CVS . So there is only one explosion effect in the images. I'll try and get it sorted for you. P.S. Yes that is someone evaporating.
  9. Oh right! We fixed that problem. All fog effects now make sense . And about Vash: it is just that you said you didn't know much of our intended plot so I decided to post some.
  10. k_sup_galaxymap is a global script . It fires when you select a planet on the galaxy map. To be honest, I am so glad that this element isn't hardcoded - it makes my job much easier... well actually, you wouldn't be able to access the planet without it, so I wouldn't have a job. I just added in a few lines here and there to reference M4-78 and to play the cutscenes I want.
  11. Subtle aren't you ? I presumed everyone had become disinterested in our little project, given the lack of questions recently, along with the massive resurge in interest for TSLRP. You want updates? Hmm... well nothing interesting is going on really, just me debugging countless scripts and creating an excessive amount include files (I really do love them) <_<. Oh and writing for somewhat eccentric droids is fun. What's your opinion of this quest name? "Fatal Exception." Edit: And in other news I just deleted the source code for k_sup_galaxymap - which is annoying...
  12. Hallo there, followers of the project - few in number though you may be. I haven't got access to the webpage at this time so I thought I may as well give you an update via the forums. School and University have basically finished for the team, so that means we should be able to speed up the project. A while ago there was quite a problem with communication but we seem to be back on track now, with some pretty regular chats. As you can imagine progress was slow over the past few moths of the academic year
  13. It is a great crime that takes place at that location... wow I managed to make that sound cryptic. We wll be releasing more aspects of the story (Hopefully) soon - so hold on to your horses.
  14. Oh believe me, Archon's stuff generally looks better in motion. The thing we were worried about was it looking better than the actual endgame . In which case we may have a problem. I'm afraid to ask Archon to redo the endgame because this will invariably result in me being called in to make countless changes to the mechanics of the Assault on Citadel Station... *sigh*.
  15. ^^ He's not as evil as I am. He doesn't tell you anything at all. Whereas, I (Pavlos) will give you tiny little bits of information followed by a long silence for you to get annoyed. Hmm, what little piece of information can I divulge? Ah! It is a flash-back... and you will see why... when it is done. . - Pavlos
  16. Hello there, people! Well... seeing ahow this thread has once more died, I thought that I would post something of a visual update. The scene has yet to be finalised but I think you will enjoy it:
  17. I really can't make my mind up on this one. I'd say that they are both great in their own "special" way. Just so you don't try to kill me when I voice this opinion, I'll quote something I said on another forum:
  18. This should really be in the technical discussion shouldn't it? Anyway, we can't help you if you don't tell us your system specifications. Do you have a CRT monitor (One that is quite old) because it sounds like a refresh rate issue - it can mess up the proportions of the screen.
  19. One thing to bear in mind with this comparison (and I beg that you do) is that TSLRP has been in (Don't really want to use the term but there is no other viable expression) "development" for a little over a year now. So, the headstart gives them an advantage. Another thing to bear in mind is that Team Gizka is picking up some of the pieces that Obsidian left over, a lot of the work we have done since the project started way back in (August?) September is concerned with story and story only - we don't so much have a plot left over from the developers, as a very unclear chain of events lying in the .TLK. As such, we have worked day and night, battled through millions of troops, (Oxford comma for the win!) and been roasted alive on the sanguine flames of Melilla (Yes I did just pick a random Spanish Empire leftover from my map of Europe), in order that we might bring you a story of questionable awesomeness. I cannot guarantee you will enjoy the planet, it will mostly not be written by the developers (Vash, Kaah, and a handful of other major figures are all that we have left). Besides my rambling, the point is that the majority of our work up to this point has been attempting to get our story properly laid out (Which we have finally done). The thingymobob that is happening at the moment is planning out cutscenes and plugging in our basic storyline. We all agree on the team that getting our story in the game is the most important thing before we fiddle with animated cameras and animations etc.. So in conclusion... M4-78RP will be out when it is done which could be tomorrow - but it probably won't be for the above expressed reasons . And I cannot speak for Team Gizka. Just don't hold your breath for a release in ~ 5 days. Besides, our project is going to be made compatible with TSLRP, and as one person stated: there is no way we can do this without actually obtaining a copy of the whole thing . So, in another conclusion, now that my thought process has reached this point, I'd say TSLRP will be released at date n and M4-78RP will be released at date n+y (I don't know the alphabet) whereby n equates to "When it is done" and y is roughly equivalent to a lovely "8" turned on its side. . Yours sincerely The moderately evil Pavlos . Edit: If you can understand this then you get brownie points... and 99 times out of a Monday you will also receive a gold star.
  20. Wow... a sticky . I'm so proud. I'd like to thank the academy... et cetera, et cetera. Here to celebrate the event I give you this music file:
  21. How did you know that I would get an email if someone responded to this thread? Honestly... I hate you mind readers. Now I have to reply to these people! <_<. The answer to your question is that we will probably have most of the droids on the planet voiced for your entertainment. If the recordings are not any good then the answer is just not to use them and try and find others. Simple as that . Well basically, from what we can gather, after the planet was cut they used it to test out things (Hence the cheat cylinders) but that is just a wild stab in the dark. The planet won't just have a "run over there and kill the bad-guy" plot (Although that is essentially the plot to all RPGs .) We have a proper story planned out that you will enjoy... a lot . I certainly enjoy reading it, so hopefully you will enjoy playing it. Oh and... Sion doesn't give up on you (All I'm saying, because I'm mean.) Yes, we do have to put in a lot of work to merely clean up the planet. I think Blacknadger had a stroke when he finally finished placing doors. The firaxans are merely placeholders for the true droids. That or the lead developer for the planet was a bit of an eccentric - which I have no problems with . As for opening doors: you can use the ever faithful whereami armband which was designed for modders but has seemingly become a tool for exploration. You can also get it in French. Anyway, progress is slow because I have some major exams going on, as does everyne else on the team. I myself am taking a sort of "break" from them . But once we hit the end of June we can probably get rattling on again.
  22. Korriban is still an integral part of the storyline. You must travel to Korriban to learn of Vash's new location. Kaah will obviously have to have a unique appearance; so while, at the moment, we are just using a generic NPC as a stand-in for Kaah, he will - in the end - have his own appearance.
  23. We are no longer using Geocities. The new site is shown on our old page (Shown above) and also you can access it directly here. I have just cleaned out the old site and we will most probably be using Geocities for storage purposes...
