  1. So because I didn't know how spell accuracy works exactly in this game (not that you need to know the rules, seeing how easy the game is) my arguments are invalid? Right It's not hyperbole. I've only used the spell 5 times, against both dragons and the final encounter, and all 5 of them have hit. Also, I don't see any duration nerf. I just beat the final boss again by petrifying them for 14 seconds. And an optimized mage would have an even longer duration, so that even a graze would be deadly.
  2. Some enemies are badly injured when loading next to them in PoTD: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/76879-saveload-enemy-endurance-bug
  3. The problem is that the bosses' saves are laughable. I've never missed a gaze in PoTD, and that's using Aloth and not a custom, optimized wizard. In BG2, for example, f you wanted to kill or otherwise cripple a superboss (let's say Firkraag) with a spell like Finger of Death, you needed to cast 3 or 4 save-lowering debuffs first, just to have a chance of it sticking.
  4. Please stop making strawman arguments. I've never said anything like that. Not wanting autowin buttons is not the same as making the game bland. Also, Obsidian doesn't seem to agree with you, seeing how they've been balancing the game since it came out.
  5. Since boss fights are pretty much the only fights in this game that have any difficulty for somebody who has learned the rules, that would make a long list of spells basically worthless. It would also make the fights a lot less interesting as your only meaningful tactic is brute force. There are more options than brute force or immobilizing an enemy. There are plenty of buffs, debuffs and less debilitating status effects. I don't understand your point of view. You say those are the only difficult battles, so you think it's good to have an auto-win button?
  6. This is not a mmorpg. You know you can choose not to have that spell, right? They've balanced things in every patch so far, so that's not a valid argument.
  7. I'm not against status effects. I'm against status effects that are basically an instant kill working on bosses.
  8. I've never used a cipher in my party, but that's broken as well if it works the same way.
  9. It still says 13 seconds in my old save. Is it only on new games? I don't know, I think it would still be broken with no damage bonus at all and half the duration. The enemies become unable to act and everything hits them, plus it has +10 accuracy. Just giving bosses immunity to it would be enough.
  10. Yeah, I saw that they cut the damage bonus by half, but it's still too much.
  11. I think this spell trivializes the game and should be nerfed. I've never missed with it, it works on , and it makes anything hit by it die in 4-5 seconds, even in PotD. I would either lower the accuracy, make some enemies immune to it or lower the duration to 3-4 seconds.
  12. I haven't noticed items not being consumed except for that one instance, though I generally never use chisels as I have 18+ might
  13. Editing a custom formation while it is selected doesn't apply the changes until you deselect and then relesect it. This happened to me sometimes at launch but began being a 100% thing after patch 1.03. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/77584-13-custom-formations-dont-work-as-intended/
  14. I don't remember this happening in previous versions of the game:
  15. There's a wall in Cilant Lîs where you can use a Hammer and Chisel item to bring it down. The item is not used up if you do. Is this intended behaviour?
  16. I guess it's because of the developer's commentary.
  17. Well of course it's not a big deal if you just want to see the story. Just play on Normal mode, letting everyone autoattack to win most battles, not caring if you've lost half your inventory or all of your abilities because you still win. But for people who want a challenge and play on the hardest difficulty, those bugs definitely break the game.
  18. Apparently I have another game. I played 100 hours and only encountered a couple of bugs so far. VERY stable and very solid on release. Yes, it was really solid on release when double-clicking an item made you permanently lose every passive ability you had.
  19. Ever since I dismissed him from the party at one time (which, incidentally, made me lose his entire inventory due to a bug), Kana has stopped chanting automatically when combat starts. I've tried deleting all his chants and creating new ones, but they always deselect when a battle begins. I'm getting tired of this game.
  20. Not sure what you are talking about I am playing it now and not sufferring from bugs When you dismiss a companion to put another one in the party and then rest, all of their items are gone. This was reported when the game came out and it hasn't been fixed yet. I didn't know and lost half of my inventory, including 3 figurines which were very expensive and helpful in tough Path of the Damned encounters. There's also a NPC that freezes the game when I talk to him, among other things.
  21. It's way too bugged to be enjoyable, like most Obsidian games. I thought they'd have fixed most bugs by now, but I keep encountering new ones everyday, and big ones, like my inventory disappearing or freezes. I wouldn't buy it if I were you. Maybe in a year when it's cheaper and most of the bugs are fixed (or not).
  22. Yeah, never mind, it's a Fortitude -10 accuracy effect, so it functions as an instant kill effect. Not a bug.
  23. Not only that, but he's still at the Salty Mast (so there are 2 copies of him in the world), but now he has the same dialogue as in my Stronghold, and if I select to sleep with him the game freezes (the screen goes black).
  24. When you hire a prostitute from the Salty Mast, he/she appears in your room in Brighthollow, where you can sleep with them. I don't know if they're supposed to still give their stat bonus, but they don't. At least not the one I chose, which is Big Durmsey.
