  1. I don't own, and never will own, a single Halo game. I don't mind questions from an ending, but I want CLOSURE. This game had 0 Closure. Hell a quick voice over from Mira or Atton would have been nice, saying the Exile disappeared into the Unknown Regions to go after Revan, but that the worst was yet to come (further hinting at what Kreia was going on about), would have done WONDERS for wrapping up the game. There were 3 other people in the room with me for the last few hours of gameplay, 2 of which had never played through the first game, and we all said "THAT WAS IT?!" These guys aren't gamers, only one of them is a Star Wars nut, but we all like a good story, and ALL of us were highly displeased by that ending. To get all 4 of us to agree on anything unanimously is a minor miracle. That alone should say how crappy the ending is right there.
  2. God knows I could have. My scripting skill is limited, but even I could have conjured up a better End Conversation with all the cast members. It may not have been visually astounding, and still a bit of a let down since I don't have the skills to script out a full-on cut scene, but it would certainly be better that that piece of dren called an ending.
  3. In all honesty, it probably wasn't their fault. Someone somewhere said "we're shipping NOW!" and they had to make do with what they had.
  4. I was hoping the X-Box users wouldn't have to stay screwed if they did fix the ending for the PC version. If X-box users would have to buy a completely new version of the game, then they won't do it. I may not know the business, but I can't see any company releasing a new version of the game that leaves the owners of the first version SOL.
  5. Heh, I was like that with Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. I like "ironic" or twisted endings. I laughed my @$$ off at Bloodlines' ending while everyone on the boards were complaining about it. You won't like the KotOR 2 one.
  6. I know nothing about this business, so there are probably a dozen reasons why this plea is completely unfeasible, but I'm going to ask this anyway. Take your time, delay the PC release and fix the ending. Make the final act of the game as good as the other acts we so lovingly played through. I doubt you can have it done by February 2005, but thats fine. Delay it till March or May or whenever. Then go back, and release the new ending as an X-box Live Content Update for X-Box users, like Bioware did with Yavin for the first game. There's nothing wrong with making a mistake. We all do. Just please try and fix it. This was a fantastic game for the first 38 hours of gameplay. Give the fans an ending we can be proud of. If you need to leave it open-ended for another sequel, thats fine, but even the Empire Strikes Back had closure.
  7. Yes, but Reloaded and Revolutions were filmed SIMULTANEOUSLY and released within months of each other, much like the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. They were NEVER intended to stand separately from each other, and were designed as such. Also, viewers knew GOING IN that this would be the case (didn't stop the endless whining though). KotOR2 doesn't have that excuse. There has been no announcement of KotOR3 and with the Lucasfilm shuffle going in, I doubt there will be anytime soon, and God only knows who'd be working on it by then. It handled the Sequel part fine. I loved the tips of the hat to the original and they handled it just right. They handled the feel and the atmosphere beautifully. I was completely immersed and loving it. Where this game failed was in the story and how it wove into the characters. Someone said something earlier in this thread that summed everything up perfectly. 40 hour game. 38 hours of pure joy followed by 2 hours of pure sh$t. As soon as my roommate completes the DS version, I'm trading this in for MGS3. Whether or not I buy the PC version will depend on if an annoucement is made confirming KotOR3.
  8. It was a great idea but poorly implemented. Ideally, they need to use both. The Influence system is great for getting people's life stories out of them, and learning their secrets, and driving them towards light or dark side. The level-based dialogue system shoudl be used for present day information, like whats currently bugging them, and for triggering side quests and romance subplots. Hopefully someone will realize to use a combo of both systems for K3.
  9. FOUND THE FIX!!!!! Its not a bug! Look on the Load Game screen and see where it says "Click X to Switch Characters". Obsidian apparently installed a layer of character management to the Save Game Screen. Nice feature actually. *blush* Oops.
  10. Unfortunately he's right. Its only one L. Hey its okay, just claim you were being creative. j/k
  11. I would love a reply on this too, as my roommate's existence depends on it. *growls* I need to know if the dumb**** overwrote my savegame, or if it really is a glitch like he claims. Regardless, someone is going to die for this, I just want to make sure its the right person.
  12. Okay I'm on the Smuggler's moon trying to get noticed by the Exchange. The problem is, I've completed every quest that I can and the next event isn't coming up. I've even gone out and bought the Prima Guide and according to it, I've done everything except complete the "Seeking Passage" side quest, which I can't complete because Faasa insists the hijacking problem needs to be dealth with first. Problem is, I can't fix that problem until the Red Eclipse event triggers. WTF?

  14. Yeah, swoop racing is now an utter waste of time. For the hours you'd have to spend mastering each track to beat the top time, you could be playing Pazaak with even a mediocre side deck and come out ahead every time. As it is, swoop racing is just an exercise in frustration. All in all I thinks TSL is an improvement over the original, except for this area so far.
  15. Okay I'm on Telos. I keep beating the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place times, and the guy keeps telling me "so sorry, not good enough, keep racing." I am assuming that beating the 1st place time sin't necessary to at least get my name on the rankings. I'm about ready to break my console because I'm broke, I need money to finish a quest, have nothing to sell and can't afford a decent Pazaak deck. This is screwing me. Nevermind, I just got informed that is a 1st Place or nothing deal. *shakes head* There's one mini-game I won't be wasting my time on.
  16. Ehhhh I SO don't trust this woman. She's too snobby and elitist to be a Jedi. She makes Early Bastila look positively warm and caring. Atton may be a scoundrel, but at least I can figure him out. Kreia's on my Kill List if she does anything to betray me. No Speechifying Redemption for her.
  17. I wouldn't stress out too much, yet. Given how they've said PC input about the previous game will determine Original Game Cameos, I'm wililng to bet that will determine Bastila's fate, as well as Carth's. Its the only way to keep everybody happy.
