And just too post the latest hockey news: Peter Bondra close to signing a one-year deal with Atlanta Thrashers was a great goal scorer in his peak.. but still has good speed and could score 25 goals..

This debate of a great leader can go on and on !!!! Messier was a great leader but he wasn't a miracle worker either!! Just look at his not so pleasant run in Vancouver if we all remember.... Well I personally feel Mess "The Moose" was a great leader perhaps "perhaps one of the greatest in Hockey but it is impossible to say of all time cause how can you compare this generation with legends of the past Stan mikita, Phil Esposito,Darryl Sittler, Mike Bossy , just to name a few those were great leaders during their time aswell and I'm sure in the 40, 50,60's etc.. there were other great leaders. I think it would be fair to say he was one of the greatest of the last 2 decades in hockey and nothing more.... Furthermore you can't compare leaders of different sports it just doesn't work
-
And that gets me wondering with Peca traded to Edmonton who will Captain the Islanders !! There know way Yashin should get it other than the fact he played 4 times more than he deserves
-
Well if they play badly for a number of years then who knows they can get a nice high draft pick!! Washington won't always finish last haha !! True but Zetterburg hasn't played in the league long enough !! And not sure if he will be the leader type! Datsyuk is one dimensional right now and by playing back in Russia that just shows the type of leader he is and I'll give you a hint it three letters and starts with o and ends in e as in himself
-
Oh yeah Yzerman shows true heart wanting to play even if he can't walk !! Perhaps overexciding his limits!! But the city of Detroit will miss him on the ice and off he represented that team with everything he could offer.. It will be a disappointing day when he retires next year.. Detroit won't be the same until they draft another superstar.. whenever that maybe

Kotor is a bit better more dialogue options and of course the ending and the fight with Malak!! Although the darkside ending was was cooler looking ! Everyone loves blind obiedence With Kotor2 we had higher expectations since we played the first! and I suppose that obsidian attempted to have an "Empire Strikes back ending" but it just didn't have the same affect perhaps would feel I bit different if everything that was cut was but back in

Every city should have a rocky statue
-
exactly a leader doesn't always needs to be the outspoken one then can do there talking on the ice !! I think Joe Sakic is a perfect example
-
I would agree if we could look back every decade I'm sure it would be the same with the old guard versus the new
-
Well can't agree on that one, ONE PLAYER does not represent the entire league. The league will still have great leaders in Yzerman, Sakic, Iginla, and Lemieux(he has proven he is a great leader, just look at how many times he has played injured and even has come back from cancer) Volourn even though Messier was great for Edmonton he will never be compared with Wayne Gretzky , Gretzky will always represent Edmonton, thats why they even named a street after him Although for New York I can see Messier Definitely going down as one of their greats
-
Perhaps it would be nice to see Messier play once more! Although being 44 yrs old with a year not playing would make it more difficult! Yes the NHL is changing but thats why everyone is hoping new guys coming into the league like Crosby, Ovehkin , Phaneuf will develop into the next generation of superstars. The old guard can't hold on forever as much as we would like that
-
getting bad visuals
-
Yes it really seems the era of the great players is almost gone! But perhaps Mr. Volourn you should wait and see how the new rules really play out before you judge the product.. For the last ten years we had great players BUT you were not able to see them play to their potential because of the defensive hockey, grabbing, slashing and expansion which diluted the talent. IF these new rules allow a faster , higher scoring league than the NHL will be on the right road to recovery Oh and too add for any Montreal Fans Michel Ryder has signed a 1 yr deal for 1 million
-
Actually I hope city wins too
-
Should be interesting too see how Newcastle will play with Owens in the lineup

FEMA director recalled to D.C. Cnn Coast Guard Vice Adm. Thad Allen will replace Michael Brown
-
St. Louis will have a hard time making the playoffs since the owners didn't want to spend money to buy out Keith Tkachuk! On d they have Brewer, Weinrich,Jackman and Salvador the rest is not even worth mentioning!! Poor Blues fans not!!! Also to note James Patrick has retired!! Not a flashy D but has been steady over 21 seasons Olli Jokinen still has signed a new contract with Florida ! Since he will be unrestricted after this season !! Wonder if Iron Mike Keenan will drive him out of town !!
-
