  1. I haven't got a gamming degree I'd get one but then I'd need to move and that isn't possible
  2. So the skills you need to work on so far : Spelling Imagination <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Imagination is more important than knowledge. Albert Einstein The ability to learn new things by analysis is a brilliant skill; that alone sets you on the right path. Spelling, although not an obvious skill, is essential: good communication skills have been streesed many times for all types of jobs; there is no point being the best widget-maker if you can't tell anyone else about it, or worse, you can't take instruction. There area already a couple of topics on this page (one is stickied
  3. I recommend that too (for a graphics/gamer person) because I'm at Uni and it really is "Computer Science", like studying algorithms and stuff - I wasn't expecting them to but still would've been nice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i'd probably make people fell stupid if I took a cs degree since I've already have a CIS degree besides I can learn that stuff on my own
  4. none of wich are better than my 6200
  5. most in house software is being writen in VB.NET so your stuck either way and what is wrong with VB I think it is a good starting languange.
  6. I'm in the minority for most categories but that is because I've souped up my computer a bit
  7. check your video card maybe it doesn't support some of the key features tha it requires or your running out of ram I've personally never encountered this issue but I'm a programmer so my computer is pretty souped up so I usually don't have any problems but another thing could be your missing some key files so I'd try reinstalling the game and see if that helps
  8. um your grapics card is dying that is nope than likely you problem I've never even heard of something like this what card do you have you aren't give enough details for me to diagnos the problem
  9. This Idea has been floating around LucasForums for a long time and has pretty much been concluded that most people don't like the idea of having to train to become a jedi you also I don't like the combat for JK2 I'd much rather have combat similar to rots because of the blocking aspect of the game I really don't like the combat for JK3 either because there isn't a way to parie attacks or block them all together but to each his own i guess
  10. um I want to test games before I make them yes I'm a computer nerd so I want to do more than test then since I have no artistic talent what so ever I'll stick to the code
  11. *looks through thread* what no bastila fans plz if you post on LF no jokes about me cuz my username is the same as here
  12. Well I don't have any Trouble with my 6200 256MB card with the latest driver try turing v-sync on in the graphics portion of the game if you don't already have it on because that tends to fix most grapics issues I turned it off once an then I had this issue so make sure you have v-sync enabled when you are in the game. I've never encountered this issue with v-sync on but the funny thing is that Kotor 1 thinks my grapics card doesn't meet the recommened requirments a nother issue is that FX cards don't support direct x 9.0c completely so that might be a problem also where are you people finding the 6800 series cards I've looked at newegg and they don't have them but this is not something I'm going to get any time soon just a quiery is all
  13. I'm a QA Tester on Neverwinter Nights 2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cool I've been looking into game testing or game development but I'm a programmer at heart and can pretty much learn all i want by playing around with a program so it that skill any help at all. I also have and Associates degree in Computer Information Systems so I know a few tricks of the trade. also another handy trait is being passionate about video games which I am and let people make fun of me for being 21 and still playing video games everyday . I've also been considering applying for a job as one but I don't live any where near a game developer can you do it testing from home or do you do it in house. i really don't break things I consider it more of a creative destruction when I intend to break some thing but I accustomed to fixing things though since I'm a PC tech. also who do you contact to become a game tester because that is something I've always wanted to do
