Sitting in a traffic jam just seems like mass transit with extra steps to me.

I would but they don't like me there, what with the whole my mental illness being simultaneously just in my head and I just need to try harder as well as to blame for gun violence.

Watched this years' Twilight Zone reboot with Jordan Peele. Had a few good episodes, but... Let's put it this way, you guys know me, some of you have called me an SJW. Right? Well, this show was too freaking preachy for me. Some episodes I was like "jesus, I get it, I agree with your point on racism/gun control/consumerism/toxic masculinity/immigration but could you not hit me in the face with a sledgehammer with it printed on it?" I mean, some anvils need to be dropped but a little subtlety goes a long way.

The movie is incredibly toned down compared to its source material.

Fair, but to be clear you misunderstand me. As seen in my arguments, I actually don't like it at all, because it looks exactly as garbage as D2. I don't see how you can like one and not the other because they are the same.
-
Oh come on, you can do better than that. That's an extra darkened cellar vignette level. D3 has those too. Talk about cherry picking.
-
Dude, once you move out of the starting area into the mainstay dungeons, D2 looks like this. What has a strange color palette? Plus, as you can see D3 still uses vignetting (which you refer to as light radius) and uses it pretty much all game except for heaven in act 4, while D2 actually only uses in select zones. You need to go back and actually play D2. Now if you were using D1 as an example I'd buy it. That game was a lot darker aesthetically. D3 gets this accusation for some reason, but D2 was actually when Blizzard's oversaturated color palette hit the series with a bat. The terrible lava tiles were as bright as that first game got. Why are they going to make D4 "more dark"? Because people bitched at D3 constantly while not knowing what they were talking about. It's lip service, it's not actually going to be darker.
-
It was and still is a nonsense argument. The difference was dynamic lighting. The sprites always looked darker and more shadowed in comparison because the lighting didn't change them. That is literally the single only thing that makes D3 look less dark and murky and it is an objective improvement. It was such a "muh nostolgia glasses" nonsense argument. "Oh no, my character doesn't look as grimdark edgy when it stands next to a literal spotlight! What a crime!" Other than the deserts in Act 2 and literal heaven, everything in D3 is as dark or darker in D3 than it was in D2. Anyone who claims otherwise is straight up intentionally lying to you. There are many things wrong with D3, but this wasn't one if them. If anything, it was far too slavishly loyal to recreating the previous games. Anyway, "levels will be bigger in D4 than D3" is an awful move. D3's maps were ridiculously huge and exploring them is a chore.

Is every quest a fetch quest??

Would you rather be gathering 8 space boar livers? -
Scorcese's criticism rubs me the wrong way, because I used to think the man was a genius until I watched Wolf of Wall Street and something clicked and I realized all of his movies are shallow escapism for terrible people. Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Gangs of New York. It's always about how hard it is to be a good person and people who just can't seem to help themselves to be the worst. It's just wish fulfillment. He makes wish fulfillment for people who wish they could abuse others instead of people who want to be a hero. He makes technically very well done escapism with great pacing and lots of cool montages, but it's just escapism nonetheless. Just about darker stuff, which makes people think it has more weight, because negativity is always overvalued compared to positivity.

There's also the fact that Last Jedi didn't leave any hooks to look forward to. Ep 7 built stuff up, but Ep 8 tore it all down. There's very little "wow, I wonder what..." to get excited about.

Did you guys read the whole thing? Paradox said no such decision was made.

Lake Mungo, a very convincing australian horror mockumentary that I'm sure must have inspired the recent The Haunting of Hill House series. Very creepy, and if I had come across it on TV without being aware of it being fake I would have wholeheartedly believed it and I probably would have stopped sleeping altogether.

Wow, what a spin!

In unrelated news, apparently Trump thought Turkey was bluffing and would never invade Syria. He also claimed escaped ISIS prisoners were deliberately set loose by the kurds to try to force US intervention. How can there still be people who support this absolute vegetable?
-
It was also labeled the next day when it was still the previous day in the US, but not in Hong Kong. Honestly I can't get too worked up. This is how capitalism works. Screw over the people to make more profit for your shareholders. People are just mad because this time they noticed, and they noticed because video games are serious business.

Seems to me that the whole bathroom issue gets misaimed. Your problem is with pedophiles, not transpeople. Old bearded men can go into the bathroom and ogle the little boys now. I know the right (and pedophiles) will try to conflate gender identity issues with pedophilia but they're not actually connected.

Man, I haven't had any time to hang out here in ages. What's up everyone? Baby due in two months. I'm stressing out like crazy.

Empty words from Epic. They're practically owned by China and have no platforms for people to speak out.
-
Pretty much. I enjoy the crazy visuals and the characters and Bill Skarsgard's performance, but they're more like over the top action movies with horror imagery. I really liked both, but not because they're good. They're fantastic popcorn munchers for me to laugh at.

For a much more interesting horror experience with a spooky clown (among other things), check out the recently released "Haunt" - does exactly what it sets out to do, which is make you clench your butt cheeks.

It Chapter 2. It was kind of terrible, and not scary at all, and it was a complete mess, and it was the best time I've had at the movies because it was consistently entertaining if not always for the reasons it should be. It's the horror equivelant of a bad action movie. Laughed my head off.

Godzilla - King of Monsters... There was a lot of brouhaha about critic and audience dissonance with this flick, where critics were like "it lacked the human element, there was too much monsters" and audiences were like "that's why we're here, idiots!”. This left me prepared to hate the people in it, but woefully unprepared for how freaking awful the monster stuff is. No redeeming features whatsoever.
