  1. I wonder why some people feel that "romance" is the only viable relationship with game characters. Is friendship or rivalry not a good relationship? Having your companions face their fears and overcome them during critical moment due to loyalty or turn their backs on you because you mistreated them or contradicted their beliefs is far more satisfying than awkward "sex-talk" and fade-to-black sex scenes. Has any developer outside of Bioware even done "dating-sim" RPGs ? Maybe you simply like Bioware game style? If so maybe romantic movies or books could be a good alternative. And if not you can always leave things for imagination. Nothing is set in stone in RPG genre, especially character relationships. You can always make-up your own relationship
  2. You are not alone. I was like "that can't be good", but then I read OPs post and felt silly.
  3. I'd say that I play and like both types of games, however as I grew older I started to become very selective about the multiplayer games I play. I guess my multiplayer preference would be coop and small team PvP and no shooters. Currently I only play league of legends (barely, only when 4 other friends are into it) and do occasional PvP invasions in Dark Souls 2. Before I had great interest and played a lot of WoW arena PvP, but currently I have 0 interest in playing any type of MMO or game that resembles MMO structure (huge maps with tons of fetch quests and mindless grind). That is probably the reason I can't play through DAI for the second time, too much time wasting. I really hope that at least half of the PoE side missions will be more than some "go there - do this - come back for reward" type of quests, or if they are, I hope they will at least give us an opportunity to make a statement and express an opinion, so we can actually role play and create a personality for our avatar
  4. Not really. To make the combat better you would first have to fix the interface. This would require a pretty fundamental reworking of the game. I'm playing the sequel now and even Obsidian did not try to do it -- they fixed some minor issues which reduce the degree to which the interface is annoying by quite a bit, but the core of both interface and combat is basically the same. There are few mods that improve the experience. While they do not change the combat itself, they increase the difficulty (lets face it, difficulty is a joke in vanilla KotoR) and add additional high level force powers, which while fundamentally look the same as original ones, they do have some different effects and animations which is always nice to see replaying the game. IMO those mods are essential and I would not be able to play through both games again without at least those improvements.
  5. Decided to boot up NWN2 and play through Mysteries of Westgate since I have never played that campaign, but heard very good things about it. Apparently it has gloomy and mysterious feel about it, which is what I like in stories
  6. Hey everyone. As I'm impatiently waiting for PoE to come out I keep thinking of what games should I play until March 26th. It will be very long 4 weeks and the closer the date the less interested I am in the other games. I'm currently thinking about starting a NWN2 - Mysteries of Westgate campaign, since I have never played it, but heard very positive feedback about. I also wonder what games you guys play to pass the time until we can engorge ourselves in this upcoming game.
