  1. Ok thank you. I'm a bit concerned about the paladin and the fighter. Because in these guides, they got only 9 and 7 CON (rauatai paladin and lady of pain). Is that enough to tank? Because this Sanguine Plate for the Fighter is not early to get i think.
  2. Hmm ok, this one link is pretty interesting. But i'm not quiet sure how much athletics, lore etc i should put in for each party member. I know that one character should put almost everything in mechanics. But isn't it good, if every party member gets a decent amount of sneak / stealth and equip a gun to kill the weak mages etc in the first round? Also i read they changed survivability?
  3. Hello First of all: English is not my native language, but i try my best. Acutally i got both DLC's and what i want is, a guide (because the sticky ones are outdated) for my party. I want to play: Ranger with Bear, Fighter 2H, Paladin, Wizard, Druid and Priest. With each different class, what race should i pick, abilities / talents / skills / spells and the stat points (CON, INT, etc)? And i mean, exacty, which class ability or talent, i should pick for level 2, 3 up to max level? I got it allready for my ranger, i will use the stormcaller hunting bow and the persistence hunting bow: Race: Island Aumaua Stats: 21 3 18 18 15 3 Bear Comp. Land of the Living All points in Mechanic 1. Wounding Shot 2. Res. Comp. 3. Vicious Aim 4. Vicious Comp. 5. Predators Sense 6. Merciless Comp. 7. Driving Flight 8. Stalkers Link 9. Wpn. Focus Peasant 10. ??? 11. Stunning Shots 12. ??? 13. Twinned Arrows I need it like that, for my other 5 party members. Maybe somebody wants to help me.
  4. Ranger as main starter. Paladin as tank. Fighter DPS / off tank. Priest, Druid and Wizard.
  5. But can i reach the bow persistence with level 5 or 6? And which pet should i use?
  6. Hmm, but you need the expansion pack white march for this bow. Can you acquire the bow in the expansion early? I know you need to get to defiance bay to receive the message from the steward. Do i need a higher level to acquire it? Because my main character should be level 5 at defiance bay.
  7. So, you should decide, to play as pure bow (hunting or war) with high dex or with guns, high int and weapon switch to other guns?
  8. Why? Is INT not pretty useless for a ranger? Duration, Will and AoE, what talent has an effect on it?
  9. Yeah, but marksman does not give +damage? Does a ranger need a high amount of INT (around 15 or 16) or is it better to put it in DEX?
  10. Does "Two-Handed" also work for range weapons? Is there no weapon focus for a hunting bow?
  11. You're welcome ^^ Still playing TCS a ranger... It's hard to describe how epic/funny my playthrough level 4-5 was. My ranger had no any chance with the bandits who stole the Smith's Shipment - near trolls killed them. I knew there are four phantoms in the reception hall of Caed Nua. It will be problem because it means a perma stun. Well, it was the perma stun. I've tried everything but couldn't deceive AI here. At some point ( after 7+ reloads ) it seemed impossible to pass... At last an AoE trap and a couple of shots worked out well. By lucky chance the phantoms stopped to stun my wolf and attacked the ranger. It was a chance - my "almost dead" wolf hastened to the end of the hall ( near the Steward statue ). My char fell down very quick, ghosts are flew away, the fight was over. My animal and "me" were in different parts of the hall. No rest, no way out. I made a decision to save game... two of the phantoms are left. Luckily, my useless ranger suddenly got a Robin Hood ability for a while - several critical shoots. The end. After a WWII with spiders in the jail I met Maerwald. Everybody knows Maerwald, a mad fellow with a couple of cheapo spells. Kill him in 5 sec and forget. Nope, not for my ranger. I saw almost "a sorcerer of dreadful power". Besides, ( a surprise! ) these flame blights had pierce immunity. I wasn't ready to rumble So, after 5-6 reloads I just pulled some beetles from another room, fortunately the beetles started to fight Maerwald & his minions and killed each other while my ranger hid in a corner with 15 endurance. The road to Defiance Bay and some easy level up's are open Strange that you're having so much issues with ranger. Found Act 1 as a ranger stupidly easy with the only real hard fight being the spores in the cave by the ocean. What build are you using? I suggest the following for Rangers: Race: Island Aumaua Might - 21 Con - 3 Dex - 10 Per - 18 Int -16 Res -10 Skills & Abilities Lv. 1 - Wounding Shot Lv. 2 - Quick Switch Lv. 3 - Vicious Aim Lv. 4 - Arms Bearer Lv. 5 - Stalkers Link You should be able to pick up x2 Fine Arbalests early in the game plus a Fine Hunting Bow. These will serve you until Arms Bearer where you can use Kana's Arq. The basic strategy you'll be using is to unload you 2-3 big guns then switch to the faster bow to finish off what remains. Give that a try and let me know how it goes. But you have no resilient or vicious companion. Why? Because your own DPS is far, far higher than that of the companion? You're basically looking to obliterate things through quick swapping guns such that your pet can off tank while you hunting bow down the last guy. A small pet damage increase or a few more DR will not make or break a fight. But as island au. you have allready 3 weapon sets. Do you really need a 4th one? Is it not better, to skill something else?

  13. If the deflection (resolve) is low, the enemies tend to attack this party member?
  14. I'm not sure about the fighter. Should i skill him as full tank, full dps or hybrid? Tank in my opinion: Fire Godlike - The Living Lands - Stats: 18 18 10 10 4 18 Hybrid in my opinion: Moon Godlike - Aedyr - Stats: 18 10 10 18 4 18 Full DPS in my opinion: Wild Orlean - White that wends - Stats: 17 10 17 21 3 10 Wild Orlean because of "Defiant Resolve". But it lacks really will power, even with that. Hybrid or bruiser. Focus on dmg, but do not ignore defenses and armor, and possibly have 3rd slot for shield. Enemies have tendency to ignore no dps tanks. Something like this: Race: Island Aumaua for 3rd weapon slot, but anything but Wood Elf is ok from RP reasons. Stats: Might 18 (+2 race) Hit hard Dexterity 18 Hit fast Resolve 9 - We need it least, but too low may result in more hits/mind control than it is fun Rest 10 - cant ignore inteligency since we have some duration effects, do not need Percepcion as much (FIghter acc is good). (+1 from origin, living lands give +1 Might) Abilities: 1. Knockdown 3. Disciplined barrage 5. Weapon spec 7. Armour Grace 9. Confident Aim 11. Unbroken (or Clear Out) Talents: - Weapon Focus - Savage Attacks - Two Weapon Style/Two handed Style - Weapon Master - Vulnerable Attacs - Hold The line Weapon of choice: For 2 handed weapons Soldier is good, since also allows to use well some heavy hitting range weapons. Greatsword is a very good weapon. If somebody in party already use greatsword then Adventurer with Estoc is close pick. 2 weapons are fine, and Ruffian opens Pistol for opening salvo, and Sabres which have good dmg potencial. Ok. If i side with this herold in the castle, i get a 2h golden sword or? How do i stat my paladin? In my opinion: Fire Godlike - Aedyr - 18 16 4 3 19 18 But this build lacks on reflexes. Do i need them as tank? /EDIT: Question about mechanics: I read, that one character should specialize on it. So one character puts all points in it or can i skill something else too, like stealth?

  16. You get a little more XP, but it just isn't worth it. If I were you, the first thing I would do would be to avoid any combat until Gilded Vale, recruit Aloth, hire an adventurer at the inn either as damage dealer or front-liner depending on my main's class, sleep and recruit Eder. Then do the quests. For the Paladin, mid to high Might and high Int for his healing and support skills.Raising Con is good as well, since with a few exceptions, like a Kind Wayfarer with the AoE heal on kill talent, paladins are mostly tanks. Put some points into Resolve, but you don't need too much. The stat you can afford the most to lower is Dextery. Leave Per at ten if you want some damage, but are not a Kind Wayfarer. If you dump it most enemies will just ignore your Paladin. If you want an offensive Paladin, the Kind wayfarers have a talent that gives a solid AoE heal after they kill a foe, so invest into Might, Int and Per for them, leaving either Res or Con at base and not lowering Dex too much. For skills, just remember that Flames of Devotion is less useful at highter levels, but Lay on Hands is always amazing, and you can only have one Aura at once. As for talents, weapon and shield style can mitigate the low Reflex if you do a low Dex tank. Ye but, aloth is not really good depending on his stats, compared to a self made wizard?
  17. The pet is a fragile damage dealer at best. Using it to tank a bear is a waste, especialy considering how it debuffs you when it falls. And why do you want to face the bear before getting some party members or levels? To get the quest done and get the XP in town. It's a better reward for only one character or? Druids are pretty lacking until midgame. Even so, they're still feasible in early game. Spritshift is very strong and will do far more damage than your spells at this point. Sunbeam deals solid damage and also inflicts blind, which is one of the most powerful ailments in the game. Even better, you also get Tanglefoot at this level which you can use to lower the Reflex saves of enemies caught in it, allowing Sunbeam to crit more often. You also have Charm Beasts and Hold Beasts. If you're up against lions, bears or tigers (Oh my!), those spells will win the fight for you. Once 3rd-level spells are unlocked is when you'll really start to see the Druid's full power. Returning Storm, Infestation of Maggots and Spreading Plague are all very powerful and useful spells, and it only gets better from there! How should i skill the paladin? Attributes etc? If the guide here is outdated, there is no use for it.
  18. I'm not quire sure, which class i should start with. The Ranger comes in mind, cuz he has a pet, that takes the damage and i allready could do the bear in the cave as soon as i was in this location.
  19. I read some of the class builds here, but why do all builds of the ranger have the lowest perception of 3? That's for accuracy right? I don't understand that. And why such a high amount of CON? For a ranged class?
  20. With Zelous Aura you mean Zealous Endurance? Is one tank (the paladin) enough? How much CON for a tank paladin? Which talent / ability should i get with an DD Fighter? Guradian stance and hold the line are for a defensive fighter i guess. Or is it better, to get an barbarian instead?
  21. What does make more sense: Creating a charakter and get it as high as possible and then recruit your allies (i guess, you can get until level 4 b4 your stronghold solo?) or gather your party members quick?
  22. How important is survival as ability? Cuz i haven't skilled it at all.
  23. Yeah, i won the fight, but i could not say, the druid was any help. He is the only one, that died in that battle. His tanglefoot was kinda useless. Hold beasts does not work against them? It seems, he does have not more CC spells? Maybe Nature's Mark, but that only decreases reflex by 10. Druid seems kinda useless to me. Isn't it better, to get 2 Wizards instead of druid / wizard?
