  1. Wow 4 pages and finally someone asks the question that I was actually intending. Would be really interested in knowing as well. I'd like to buy this for PC but I don't want a bunch of crappy resource hogging DRM bogging down my machine and/or phoning home with my personal information. I'd also rather not have to have to spend hours troubleshooting why I'm not allowed to install/launch the game I just bought because the publishers decided to go with a cd check software that thinks that having DVD burning software installed or the wrong model of SATA DVD writer means I'm a pirate. Being against overly intrusive and defective DRM schemes isn't about wanting something for free for me. I happily buy the games I want to play. All I ask is that the publishers don't punish me for it. Especially when in most cases I could play the game w/o issue if I didn't stand by my ethical bent to pay for what I play.
  2. After watching all the video I could find on AP, I'm pretty firmly in the "looks like alot of the mechanics are from Mass Effect, but don't think that's necessarily a bad thing" camp. Looks like it's got alot of positive differences going for it as well to me though. Between this, Dragon Age, and Forza 3 it looks like I'll have most of my free time covered from October - December assuming there's no more delays. I've been playing cRPGs pretty avidly since Wizardry and the SSI gold boxes. Based on the available footage I've been able to find so far, I see alot more common elements in AP from ME than VtM:BL or VtM:R personally. The simularity in shooting mechanics probably is attributable to both games being Unreal 3 driven. The dialog mechanic, the ability selection, and the character development seem to be cases of emulating something that seemed to have worked pretty well in ME, IMO. I really have no problem with that. Sounds like the innovation will be in the gestalt of this cinematic approach merged with a slightly more adult aesthetic and hopefully more true role playing options (ie: more freedom and significant consequences in choices and story arcs that aren't quite so much on rails) Just my .02 based upon the gameplay, trailer, dev diary, and interview vids though.
  3. Put me down for one with a steel case, OST/making of disc, and an led flashlight (or a Glock 22 w/ an OE logo laser etched on the slide).
  4. Yup, spot on. I can't stand hypocricy of the Jedi order or the heavy handedness of the Sith.
  5. Neither for me. In most of my KotOR I and II games, I wind up light side because I'm just one of those types of people IRL I guess. I really have to force myself to be evil in most RPGs but I seem to have an easier time of it in the KotOR series. Anyways, whether playing light or dark side, I haven't really identified my characters with the Jedi or the Sith as both of them seem to be (almost) equally screwed up, especially in KotOR II.
  6. Atton, Carth, Bastilla, Disciple... All of them must die horrible, painful, protracted deaths...
  7. That's what I was thinking. I was DS Master when I started talking her in my current playthrough and had no issues bringing her over to the dark side. The really hard follower for me to jedify has been Bao-Dur. I've never got him to feel the force in 5 playthrough, a couple of which had him in the party for 75-80% of the game...
  8. My current game is DS Consular / Marauder with Veridian long saber and Violet short saber. I usually used Silver long and cyan or bronze short sabers on my LS playthroughs. Force Wave, Death Field, Master Force Jump, and Force Storm have to be my favorite powers.
  9. I kind of agree here. I find my self saving level ups until I get my saber in KotOR II so I'm not "wasting" feats on non-saber related stuff... Kind of annoying.
  10. I'd say if KotOR II had a finished ending, It'd be a close tie for me. The story in KotOR II had the potential to be so much more and the additional upgrades/prestige classes/etc. were very nice twinkies for the soul. As they stand today, I'd have to say KotOR I by a margin of maybe 6 to 4
