Getting near the end of Prey's main story (I think). It feels like I've barely done any side quests, though, because most of the stuff seems locked up/inaccessible until well into the main story.
-
More Prey. So I finally found that body I was looking for, but wouldn't you know it, I can't access the gravity elevator to reach it because I don't have the code. Ugh.
-
That is weird, It never happened on my playthrough. It seems like a bug. Happens every time. I'll find someone on a security terminal and get the quest update about that person being located, then when I transition to that map, the crew member quest update disappears and that person's location disappears from on the map.
-
Minor complaint with Prey. Whenever one of the side quests requires me to check a security station to locate a certain body, it seems the location I looked up on the computer disappears from my quest log (and on the map) if I transition to another section of the station. It would suck if you had to use the security station on the map the body is actually located, and not just any security station, since I don't have the key/pass code for all the security stations.

Maybe I should play just so I can steal from Hurlshot's house while he's busy stealing from Slavers' houses.

Is there a PS4 version? I've gone over to the darkside (consoles), so those are the only games I can play.

Running is not an option! I'm a hero, not a girly man coward.
-
I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but I keep forgetting what I'm even supposed to do in Prey, but I'm having fun with it anyway! I keep running out of ammo though. Sucks when you stumble across enemies who can't be bonked on the head (or they can, but they'll kill you way before you can get enough hits in with the wrench).

More Prey. Gah... of course the one weapon I figured was useless (bowcaster) turns out to be the one weapon I need to open a locked room. I can't even remember where I left it. Some locker in a random office, I believe. Too many weapons, not enough inventory space.
-
Finally got the ability to repair turrets in Prey. They're such a life saver. I just set them up where they can cover an entire room, then they go to town anytime a mimic or phantom enters their line of sight. Good thing, too, because my character's weapons suck.
-
Started playing Prey. Very early on. Music will suddenly start playing loud even though there's nothing actually in the room. Very odd.
-
Picked up where I left off in my previous play-through of Torment Tides of Numenera. Basically just polishing off any remaining quests before leaving Sagus Falls.

Maybe this is obvious and I'm just not getting it, but why would EA buy/acquire existing developers only to then put them out of business? If said developer is talented and worth purchasing in the first place, wouldn't it make more sense to keep them afloat? And if they're not talented, why buy them in the first place? I get that EA's done it in the past, so I'm not disputing it. I'm more curious *why* they do it.

The relationship between Obsidian and Chris Avellone
GhostofAnakin replied to ObsidianFan123's topic in Obsidian General
Avellone left because there were too many people with the name Chris working at the company and none of them would agree to change their name. In the immortal words of, erm, the Immortal, "There can be only one."- 12 replies

Yeah, SAM constantly telling me I had new email and finding out I had none made me want to deactivate him permanently (yeah yeah, kill me too, semantics).

New/Modern Games You Would Never Touch...
GhostofAnakin replied to SonicMage117's topic in Computer and Console
Final Fantasy's story was a confused mess. I was hugely disappointed in just how badly put together that game was. It was like a bunch of different people wrote sections of the story, but never actually conferred with each other to make it cohesive. Add in that it seems like the final edit randomly deleted huge chunks of story, and it's like watching an old VHS movie where someone recorded over the movie every 15 minutes. -
I don't know what it is, but I just can't get around to replaying Mass Effect Andromeda. I think the story and quests were just so vanilla that I can't be bothered to slog through it again.
-
Nothing the past few days. I finished ME:Andromeda and haven't had a desire yet to replay it. And I kind of gave up on my Tides of Numenumenumenu play through since I kind of got lost in what I was even trying to do.
-
The story might have been more interesting if they'd used some of the fanfic instead of what they went with.

Just finished the main story. I was a bit underwhelmed. Honestly, I can't really explain what it is. But the first ME felt ... epic. Flaws and all, it felt like you were part of a fun space opera saga. This one just felt off. Fun enough, but I can see why it scored relatively low in the reviews.

Andromeda seems to do wrong the one thing most BioWare games do well: companion interaction and sidequests. In the previous ME games, you can fault a lot of things; main story, weird endings, flawed combat, boring planet scanning, etc. But generally speaking, the companions you had aboard the Normandy usually had a lot of content. Lots of dialogue, in-depth sidequests, etc. The ones in Andromeda basically have nothing once you exhaust the first chat with them when you first meet them. For as much as I didn't like DA:I, the one thing it continued was the tradition of solid/good companion content. ME:A seems to have really dropped the ball.

Minor issue since the latest patch: I set subtitles to "off", but since the patch the last spoken line of an NPC's dialogue shows up as a subtitle and stays on-screen as I select my dialogue response. I also seem to be noticing more slowdowns since the patch. I didn't notice any big stuttering or pause/starts when moving about the map before, but now the game will stutter in busy areas. So essentially, I can't see a single thing this patch improved, but I've noticed some minor things it made worse. Good job, BioWare.

Mass Effect Andromeda tricked me. When I first saw how many "mission" planets there were on my map, I thought it was going to be chock-full of stuff to do on each planet. But two of the planets are so barren and have barely anything to do on them. Shame on you, BioWare, for getting my hopes up.

Why does Shepard ... err I mean Ryder flirt with everyone he comes across? It's like BioWare decided to not even make you work for it. Meet someone? Heart emoticon! When I first met the new species, we'd literally talked for like less than a minute and the option to "heart" them came up. Jesus, Ryder. Your mom's dead, your dad's ... "gone", and your sister is ... "asleep". Then there's the whole "new galaxy and role of Pathfinder" thing that should be occupying your time. Instead, you're doing your best Leisure Suit Larry impression to every man and woman you see.
