So basically, you're uninformned on everything that is Oblivion. Gotcha. Which is why the NPC's in Oblivion have more content to them. As proven in all previews/interviews. Hell, they even SHOWCASE it in the 20 minute demo (which is from E3). Yes, a poll here, where all your butt buddies can pool together and vote because you all share the same uninformed opinions. You always love to band together and say "the PS3 will rock" and love to complain when people say negative things about it, but you have nothing to say otherwise. If your rambling here, if evidence of your craptastic journalistic viewpoints, then I'm sure your columns absolutely suck.

Oh but there are people out there that don't like racing/chasing games, or shoot'em ups. Of which, all the GTA missions involve. For me, racing through the same street over and over again in twelve different missions is no more enjoyable than watching paint dry. Running through a landscape looking for mushrooms, while a bit tedious, is far more enjoyable. So yes, lets be honest. The GTA missions are excessively boring compared to many of the Morrowind missions.

You're just being retarded. When countless previews and interviews all say the same things regaurding AI routines, combat, and general interactivity, then everyone that's not some "I have to hate everything" type of person will realize that things have been fixed. Bethesda has yet to actually lie to anyone regarding their Elderscrolls games. They tell people what they're trying to do, and inform everyone if things cannot be done. Since it has been said, that the groundwork for Oblivion is complete, and all content is in game, only bug fixing is left - they have not said "the radiant AI doesn't work anymore" - "the combat is been dumbed down to the level of Morrowind's" - or anything else of that nature. Bethesda doesn't hype their games in the sense of a Peter M with Fable. Nor do they run around claiming greatness and supremacy in their games over all the competition. The only "hype" they've given Oblivion from a subjective point of view, is claiming the graphics engine is "incredible". That's it. There's nothing else they've said that someone hasn't already backed up with impressions from behind closed door areas, to the 20 minute movie that was posted here, or from the developer updates that are posted around the net. You seriously need to learn the difference between HYPE and INFORMATION. Perhaps I make a fool of myself to you, but to the rest of the world, it's called posting information. I can't help the fact that you don't follow news updates, impressions, and developer comments/interviews on games/products your interested in. Grow up and get a clue.

Who needs an acrobatics skill of 100? If you play normally, and just take greater risks with fall heights, say jumping off a ledge instead of walking off, your acrobatics will naturally rise at a general pace, and you will notice you take less and less damage from "natural fall heights". You're power gaming, and you're bitching about the experience being ruined. Sorry, but it's your own damn fault, and not Bethesdas. They gave you an open-ended game, where you could do almost anything, and your standing around pressing the jump button over and over so you can power rush your skill in acrobatics up ASAP. It's an ignorant complaint. Combat is entirely different in Oblivion, much more detail, a lot more "hands on" regarding what you do. You have to manually block, there are various levels of attacks, ranging from light to powerful, arching to quick hits, all of which have benefits and drawbacks. Blocking is now done manually and has greater benefits of stunning the enemy (or you if you get blocked), leaving you open for a free hit. You're simply spouting off at the mouth about a game that has fixed nearly every major flaw brought up by its fan base, and discrediting the entire game based off of your experience with the previous version. edit: How much have you bothered to read on Oblivion?

Greater fall heights improve the skill quicker than "standing in a corner".

If that's how you play Morrowind or would play Oblivion, it's nobodies fault but your own that the game is "pointless" or boring...

New Bioware game announced for Xbox 360
Epiphany replied to Epiphany's topic in Computer and Console
I'm not saying that it has less content. But you cannot make a statemnt like "Oblivion has more content." without playing the damn game. The only source right now is Bethesda and they're in the process of hyping TES 4. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ... Oblivion has more content. -

Yeah, because arguing the fact that Oblivion will have more content than Morrowind is one of the main attributes of being a "billy-box fanboiii". -

Sorry, usually when the developers talk about there being more content than the previous game, one generally assumes there is MORE CONTENT. But yeah, it's all evil hype by the Bethesda developers to trick everyone into thinking that Oblivion has more to do than Morrowind. Afterall, why would we think they were honest when they said they've listened to their fans and have created more content in the explorable areas than in Morrowind? Yeah, so uh, all games suck in development, all developers lie, all message boards on developer websites need to be closed, all posting by developers and their fans alike should be stopped because everything is hype, nobody informs their fanbase as to what's going on with their games anymore. Interviews should be axed, since they contain no factual information, just a bunch of random quotes to hype their game, when in fact, everything they say is the exact opposite from the truth. From your astute observations of hype/information, we can only assume that Oblivion will be a large explorable landmass, with 2 dungeons, 12 NPC's (all text dialog with randomly alternating languages for each word), 1 wepon, 1 suit of armor, and 1 goal, to walk 10 steps forward and touch the "YOU WIN!" sign. -

Not a difficult task when you have such an empty world as the elder scrolls games. Try that with a story based RPG and it's a whole different story. Morrowind is the perfect example of empty space as a time waster just to pad out the playtime figures. Morrowind also dosnt have next gen quality graphics and effects but that should be a no brainer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not talking about Morrowind, I'm talking about Oblivion, which is much larger, and has a great deal of more content than Morrowind has. Now it all makes sense... Can you loan your time machine for me? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not a matter of time travel, it's a matter of common sense. The fanbase for the Elderscrolls III: Morrowind was 3 to 1 on Xbox over PC. Do you honestly think the shift is going to be so drastic that everyone has magically switched platforms? -
Doom 3 the game is not fully representative of the actual engine that powers the game. I would have hoped you'd be intelligent enough to realize that the engine is capable of far more than what ID did with it on their game. Just look at Quake 4 and Quake Wars. Quake 4 does more with the engine than D3 did, and Quake Wars is even more impressive. Prey looks better than Doom 3 as well. Carmack makes some of the best engines in development, and his Doom 3 engine is evidence of that. It's called a copy/paste of the press release, you childish ****. Get over it.

New Bioware game announced for Xbox 360

Just because 500 billion people have a computer doesn't mean they all game. Multiplatform titles that span into the PC market, always sell better on the console. Even games that have big followings, like the Elder Scrolls, sold 3:1 on the Xbox over the PC version in regards to Morrowind. Oblivion on the X360 will outsell the PC version by a large margin as well. There are simply more gamers on consoles than on PC, otherwise, all these former "PC only" developers would be jumping ship to the console market. -

They still make Gamecube games as well. Just because the ship is sinking, doesn't mean everyone abandons the platform. Console gaming is where it's at, it's got the largest pool of gamers, and the most sales of games. :D -

It's not totally out of left field for those that have been big time Bioware freaks. It's been common knowledge (while unofficial) that their next game was a FPS using the UE3 set in a Sci-Fi setting. -
lol Sure thing, bub.

It's amazing how people aren't impressed by the Doom 3 engine. It's a phenominal engine, that's powering some impressive looking next-gen games. Quake 4, Quake Territory, and Prey for example. One thing about Carmack engines is, they have tons of room to GROW.
-
Now that's a ****ing talking point! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL Yeah, they're a little hyped up about their game, but it does seem interesting. I just think that Project Offset will trump this game like nobodies business if they both compete for a gothic/fantasy setting.

I'm assuming this is a RPG? Squad of freedom fighters almost made it sound like a FPS or Squad based tactical game. It does sound intriguing, although I'm assuming it'll still be another 3 or 4 years away. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's a FPS-RPG hybrid using the Unreal Engine 3. -
