  1. Agreed. First 20 hours, 8.0 The remainder, 1.0 Average 4.5/10
  2. I gotta agree with everything you said foobario. A big me too, what a disappointment
  3. Just finished. Ignoring the bugs, all of them, TSL is just not at as good as Kotor 1, IMHO. The ending made very little sense and certainly has been cut to shreds. The dialog is all over the place. Sometimes I thought the only good things about it were the cameos. Good Things: The music The item system (building and breaking down) Classes levels above 20 The idea that actions have consquences. Saving worlds actually having an impact. Bad Things: All classes having the same BAB fractured missions that you can't finish. Dialog that doesn't match the text. The awful ending. The disjointed story.
  4. I've just finished it. To all those on this board that made that possible, you have my thanks. Without you I would never have been able to play it beyond the first movie. Les
  5. Is it just me or have we all been turned in to beta testers. Did they know this would happen, that to help ourselves we'd list all the problems we'd encountered and therefore they could sit back and wait for us to play it, found the errors, and then they can release the patch, thereby bypassing the need for Obsidian to spending money on testing this game? Just wondering...
  6. I also want to add: The printed manual shipped with the game sucks. It is barely legible and doesn
  7. Had the same errors as above. I also wish to add: [*]Every now and then my character has a small triangle sticking out the side of his face. [*]Often when talking to Atton on the bridge he stands but won't turn around and face me. [*]Every now and then my character just stops responding in the middle of battle, you have to move him to get him to attack. [*]Every now and then my character is ignored by NPC's unless I have him standing in a certain position relative to the NPC, the Hutt on Nar Shadar being one of them. [*]I had to leave Nar Shadar to get my journal to update that I'd talked to the woman in the refugee sector, found her husband and talked to her again. The game wouldn't let me talk to squid-head (visquis?) about her. [*]Visas' head gear often passes straight through her shoulders instead of brushing over them when I'm talking to her. [*]All classes have the same BAB according to the 2da.bif [*]There is a transposition error in acbonus.2da with the maximum AC Bonus for the Sith Lord and Sith Marauder being reversed. The Sith Lord should max out at 14 but max
  8. Every now and then my character has a bit of his left cheek sticking out. These are really stupid and strange errors. Just how under cooked is this game? My bet is that it needed at least another 3 months in the oven.
  9. Actually, the 5.2 Cat Drivers made it run on my machine, in a window, but it runs
  10. Mate, Exactly where do you get up too, what planet are you on, what were you doing when your system stopped responding? What do you have to do to get your system back? What is your system config (hardware and OS)?
  11. You guys are gonna love this, but my game starts in a window and has to be maximised to get the full screen experience. I've checked all the settings but it doesn't make a difference.
  12. Ok, it is obvious that many/most on this board are really annoyed at the state that Kotor II was released in. It is also obvious that Kotor II isn
  13. I can't help but wonder if someone has done a cost/benefit analysis: Release game with bugs vs fully beta test. If you release the game with bugs or you release it knowing that you haven
  14. While "me too" posts are generally silly, I believe that if enough "me toos" happen over this maybe we'll never see it again. Listen LA/Obsidian It is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE to release a game that crashes when you play it for more than half an hour or so. The phone rings, the door bell rings, your pizza is delivered, the baby need changing... real life intrudes on your gaming life. If I'd known I was buying BETA software I would have waited a few months. Then the price would be lower and the patches would be all out. Not to mention that there'd be a heap of mods for me to play with too after making through the game once. In short, because of the problems with this game that I've experience and the STUPID paragraph in the read me, I'll never again rush out and buy a game. It is clear to me now that all games need at least a month on the shelf before they are ready to be played (thanks to patches). From now on, I'll let others do the unpaid beta testing for me. Why would this NOT be fixed?! How can a game be released with a known bug that does not allow the game to be played? (and yes the bug does exist. It happens like clockwork for me) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  15. Dito on the max screen prob. However, swkotor2.ini also has Width=640 Height=480 in it but the game is running in 1280x1024 just like I set it... go figure
  16. I got the wrong volume error, stuck disk 1 back in the drive and then it asked for disk 2. It installed disk 2 stuff and then gave me the volume error again, stuck disk 1 back in and it worked again, it did the same for disk 3 and 4. go figure. But even after I got the damn thing installed, I can create a character and get the opening scrawl but after the wreck of the ship flies past toward Pegarus the screen goes blank. Any ideas?
  17. <grin> What are you doing D Murda? Trying to make people angry?</grin>
  18. Nur, this is what is pissing people off. "uneducated candaian lackeys". 1. it smacks of racism 2. it
  19. Nur, we are going to have to agree to disagree. What you see as errors I see as valid extrapolations. What you see as laziness I see as an attempt not to get mired in the BS of the EU and create something that feels like SW, which, IMNSHO, KotOR did. Sure it borrowed from the movies. But why not, I think we can agree that they are good stories, can
  20. Nur, given that you obviously dislike KotOR so much, why are you here? As to the EU
  21. The Zahn stuff is really, really bad. GL sold the rights to write stuff around Star Wars. Then, when asked, he provided some guidelines for writers, like no sex between Luke and Liea (that was before RotJ was released). He also made some information available to writers to make their jobs a little easier by fleshing out concepts not fully explained in the movies. While much of the EU does back-flips to try and force itself into a coherent story it still isn
