Dennis Presnell replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Developers' Corner

How long it takes to develop a planet?
Dennis Presnell replied to Nur Ab Sal's topic in Developers' Corner
The doors were made in 3DSMax, exported, and placed in the level by the designers. When the levels are made, a dummy object was placed in the door frame. When the door was placed in the level editor, it would snap to the dummy object. Also, in the level editor, the designers could assign different properties to the door; locked, un-locked, ect. -

No. I'm sorry, but its still top secret stuff; if I posted anything, it would violate the NDA that I signed. -

Dxun was one of the more difficult areas to do. It had to go through three passes to get right. All the cool mazy areas where done by Lucas Feld initially, as well as the 2nd pass. Then Glen Price made them shine. I did the Mandalorian Camp, and Tomb exterior level. Lucas Feld did a pass after that. And then I did a third and final pass. Sorry you didn't like Peragus. The Hanger area was pretty cool IMHO, unbiased of course. -
Dave left Obsidian to pursue his life long dream of world domination. To the best of my knowledge, he is currently residing in his volcano fortress, amassing an army of atomic automatons. The whole gone to Midway thing is just a clever ruse.

All of the level building, lighting, texturing was done in 3DSMax. After it was finished it was exported for use in the level editor. In the level editor, designers would place doors, props, and do other designer stuff that I'm not familiar with. -

Most KOTOR2 levels were done by one artist, and took 2-3 weeks to model, texture, and light. After all the levels were finished, many were given an extra week for polish; often by a different level artist. One of my favorite levels that I built, the Peragus Station Hanger, took me 3 weeks (it was the first area I built for the game). It was masterfully polished by Tim Cox. Another favorite, the Telos Station Entertainment mod, was done in 2 weeks. Ed Lacabane helped with this area, by initially building the cop station, merchant shop, and cantina. I spent an additional week polishing the entire area. -
If KotOR was made into a movie...

Malek: Gary Oldman. Great choice Shadowfax. Jolee: Keith David (the Thing. They Live, Something About Mary), a bad ass and funny too. Canderous: Martin Kove (the evil sensei in the Karati Kid moives) hahaha Bastilla: Angelina Jolee -
AGREED!

How sweet (sarcasm meter skyrocketing...) Its meant to be funny. Take your sarcasm meter (a real useful invention) and go to hades.

I'm moving to Vancouver next month. And joke's on you! Ministers are appointed! Appointed... and to think I donated to his campaign fund. Vancouver is a great town. It's probably the safest, cleanest city I've ever been to. The "bad" parts of town make some of the cities around here look like some kind of post-apocalyptic nightmare.

Yeah, me too... How is it that your going to vote in the Canadian Federal election? Dual citizenship? Also whats the NDP? I'm not very familiar with Canadian politics.
-
Don't forget to vote for Dave Hendee, he's running for Minister of the MTEWP. I think he deserves your vote after a fantastic run as undersecretary. Oh wait... I made that whole thing up. BTW, anybody from Vancouver?

Dude, I didn't write that myself. I took your exact words... out of context. I was thinking that I could, just like Michael Moore; whip up something that would make Quinton Terrintino cry like he plays with dolls. And, unfortunately for Obsidian Entertainment, my artistic skills are far below my maturity level, which is probably that of about a 7 month old fetus. "But I'm trying real hard Ringo!" Lucky for me Feargus will never fire me regardless of my talent. I happen to have some very interesting pictures from an IPlay Christmas Party that he doesn't want to get out.

Dude that's pretty rough... Man I never insulted you or your country men, or your goverment. "Maybe the quote is out of context, maybe not". Or how about yes I absolutly took a quote out of context to make you look like a jerk.

Why do americans always refer to the killing of thousands of innocent people as "collateral damage"? Gee, 9/11 was just "collateral damage" in the war against imperialism. The real target was the Pentagon, but they missed. It is naive to think they're just defending themselves. Do you remember a few days after 9/11 when America demanded the entire world should hold a silent moment to honor the victims of the tragedy? Ok, I'm fine with that. But how many times has anyone demanded that we hold a silent moment for all the innocent bystanders that have been killed in Iraq or Afghanistan? Americans only count american lives as being worth something. I can tell your a Michael Moore fan. You just took a quote of mine about collateral damage out of context, to make a point about how Americans are garbage and they don't care about anybody's lives but there own, when in the same post I can be quoted as saying: "You can sit back and only concern yourself with American lives, which is wrong." Which was said after Hades suggested that we should only concern ourselves with the lives of our own people. Not to mention that I only got involved in the discussion after he suggested genocide. You have revealed yourself as well. I'm through with the both of you.

Hmmm.. didn't you just say it makes you sick that Palestinian children are killed with US made arms. Which is it? Wipe them all out, or its wrong to kill the innocent children of Palestine? Or maybe wipe them out, just as long as its not with US made arms? Or wipe them all out, except for Palestinian kids. Once again you reveal yourself. You don't really give a crap, your just looking for excuse to dump on the US and Israel, and your not above using the imagery of dead children to do it.
