  1. Kyra and Seelah. Started with trying to cast cure spell. Now all actions (turn, discard, etc...) grayed out. Change view to all locations button no longer exists. Tried quitting app, vault, main menu. Afraid to forfeit worried characters may vanish. Help? iOS. iPad Air 2 32 GB 8 GB free.
  2. Consistently? What doesn't work: hold and flick the die. Touch the die and move. Swipe the screen, hitting the die. Shaking the screen (ok this was a long shot). Restarting app. As my character is down to 2 cards with 3 locations remaining would really like to get 1 cure spell off. Approach to Thistiletop where all your (goblin-every bane I've come across so far has this trait) foes gain +4 to difficulty. I know it says d4...but only 4's have come up, which is something I've mentioned in another thread. So have to roll 4 dice to have a better than 30% chance of beating anyone, which means a lot of discarded blessings, as Seelah drew her weapons right off the bat in succession when using Inspire, so fighting with no weapons. Or when you are down to a few cards does Cure no longer work? EDIT: Never mind, I'll uninstall the app and try again after re-installing. Yay, it worked. Hate to do this every single time, but it's the only way I've that consistently works. Nope it didn't, the die flew off the screen and now the game is only letting me cancel the cure....no actually the red X is there but clicking it does nothing other than making it blink...can still view cards...but game is now locked.
  3. This is for a new character when the entire group has fallen. I found the best way is quit to main menu, quit the app. Re-launch app. Start new campaign. Start new character. Customize cards. Unload character. Quit/restart. Reload save game. Add new character. Cumbersome but it seems to work
  4. I noticed that other character was running low, so I moved Kyra to her location and cast cure. No option to choose another character at her location, no option to cancel. Needless to say Kyra had 0 cards in her discard, so wasted turn and cure (only 1) which didn't recharge of course. Trouble in Sandpoint. Kyra and Seelah. Did not try to repeat bug. When they get this bad, I immediately forfeit because I fear what the next bug will do. Sucked because almost won.
  5. Yup. Bug verified. Keeps happening, cannot close location. Every time this happens now, just forfeit. You think if ones beats 3 henchman at the same location in a row, you'd get an option to close....nope had to go through the rest of the explore deck...didn't feel like another triple fight, restarting is easier and better odds of not dying due to recursive summons. At least it doesn't lock up the game. I have not had it crash yet. So stability seems ok for now.
  6. That's pretty much it. Had 1 extra card (basic blessing) so decided to use it to explore. Drag it to discard. Only button that appears is cancel (x) or accept (arrows). Hit >>. Explore never highlights. Turn ends. Okay, what is the secret UI here? This normally works.
  7. Manage party and customize decks just shows you the default cards. I understand after start, but not for a new character. Sometimes the game allows you to customize, other times it doesn't. What's the secret handshake? For the life of me I cannot figure out why following the same steps does not work. No one else in party.
  8. So encounter henchman...and then summons an ancient skeleton. What? I've had this triple trigger with scenario power sometimes, resulting in 4 fights in a row on a single character turn.
  9. Hey folks thanks for the scoop. I figured out the customization decks and started over. Kind of bummed no tankard...made Valeros more viable as a soloer. No worries I'll figure something out.
  10. Hey everyone thanks for the tips. I did buy the full game ($24) because I have the tabletop version and this is a lot easier to lug around that the lead box full of cards @Firestormkirby: Nuala, Enchanter, Goblin, Hellhound, etc...all the ones that ding you for up to 4 damage before you can act, or after with unpreventable damage. Also when I run into 'if you don't have X, the bane is undefeated' linked with 'if undefeated discard/bury' effects. Skeletal Horde Barrier is another unpleasant bane to run into. @269Hawkmoon: Not sure what you mean about promos, I have all the promos for the tabletop...but there don't appear to be any in the app. I'm still taking it slow because I have terrible luck. I try to build my deck expecting to roll crappy...if I expect to roll average or even 1 below average, my characters die. Most difficult foes are the ones that zap you before you go, and typically I run into them early before any of my character have any damage prevention, again typical bad luck. Losing an entire hand right at the get go without anyway to get the cards back makes it really difficult to come back. Not impossible, just really tough. I also tend to run into the 'unavoidable, cannot be reduced' damage frequently. The few games I did win, they were usually down to 1 or less cards in their draw deck. If I 'save' blessings, then the characters just die earlier. I expect it gets better as they develop, this was certainly true on the tabletop (my friend and I ran Merisiel and Lini all the way through), it's just rough during the early days. I'm bouncing back and forth between story and quest mode. There are pros and cons to each. The app is pretty solid though so overall I'm liking it so far.
  11. Quest mode. Seelah. Henchman: Tsijisu (sp?) the one who has diff +2 when attacks are used. Defeat henchman. Close location (Warrens). All cards discarded...except boss is bottom card. Is this a feature of Quest mode? No the boss did not run here...this was starting location.
  12. Seelah Casts Detect Evil. Ancient Skeleton is top of deck. No option to fight. Hit next. Turn ends. Turn wasted.
  13. Just curious, if you don't have a divine in the party about the only methods of healing are specific locations or a potion. Since your card are literally your life, what's your tips/strategy for when you don't have a healer? When I'm running Seelah+Kyra they had tremendous stamina because of they double up on healing and make easier to recover when the RNG acts up. But I also like the other characters (Meri, Ezren, etc...) I'm debating running arcanes and taking one of their spells as a Cure. Sure it's a one shot that way...but it's better than no heals at all. Advice welcome! Thanks!
  14. I encountered her on the first turn. No damage prevention was in the hand. And as far as the d4...right...I posted about this. Apparently I'm running into a statistical anomaly. Or the RNG was a bit busted. I pretty much just forfeit and start over. Finally managed to defeat her. I finally had an armor card before encountering her (first time ever!) so survived by burying it.
  15. That's pretty much it. Seelah encounters Barrer Large Chest. Has base d8+2. Discard Blessing. She now has 2d4. Use her Inspired Grace. 3d4. Inspired Grace w/o Blessing d8 + d6 + 2.
  16. No barrier. Normal henchman for scenario. Had to fight with same character 3 times in a row.
  17. No its the only item in her inventory. Using Beast Form swaps die for d10. Using amulet cancels beast form and changes to 2d4. Doesn't matter which order you try. Add an animal and its 3d4. Beast form+amulet+animal.
  18. Yeah that vault button? Greyed out. Locked at end of winning quest first time with Seoni. No rewards for finishing the first time, levelled up and no rewards for that either. No gold for finishing because cannot go forward. Entire panel is blank. Trying other combinations...
  19. So I finally managed to get Seoni to survive a Quest mode adventure. Rewards for finishing: 0. Rewards for levelling up: none. So...that's it? What the secret code to getting rewards or is that an unimplemented feature at this time? Thanks!
  20. On close: you are supposed to have any character attempt the check. Does not work. Only primary allowed. On close: recharge card from discard pile. Does not work. Only option is to end turn. Ancient Skeleton (spawns on henchman): each OTHER character encounters Ancient Skeleton. Does not function correctly . Not only does all other characters encounter it, so does the initial character. Having a lone beginning character forced into 3 henchman fights on the same turn makes for a short trip to the forfeit button (or stay and fight as I did, and roll up a new character.)
  21. Hurm. So far with Seelah this has been her record: Drew Nuala, lost 4 cards (entire hand). Lost game. Next 5 games encountered specters, ghosts, and other banes that require magic to defeat. Impossible to defeat, therefor could never close locations, lost game. Game 6 stopped cold by arcane check needed in one location, magic needed in other. Lost game. Working on game 7 now, just ran into another Spectere, so this may be 0 for 7. Hoping not. Used her crusade ability, in 3 of the games her first pull was Cure, her only spell. I did win games 8 and 9, managed to acquire a inflict spell to finally finish off a spectere. The kobld boss wiped my hand before the fight so it was extremely close. Did not pick up anything of value yet but at least she is out of her losing streak.
  22. Another tip: Start with smaller parties . Solo with Kyra or possibly Merisiel. Don't focus on winning because it is almost impossible, just build up decks and forfeit before you are forced to forfeit, just don't die. After a while you'll have a decent deck that will result in wins about 1/3 to 1/2 the time in normal mode. Again forfeit if it looks like you're about to die, otherwise all that work is lost and you have to start from scratch. This game is perma-hardcore mode. Or go with 2 man (Kyra + other such as an arcane or warrior type) this is a good balance of versatility without having the deck overstacked against you (well not much more than usual.) A full party is much harder to win with. You don't have enough time, many banes thrive against large parties (i.e. all party members lose 4 cards before they act). When you get a decent card for ANOTHER character, forfeit, manage the party, add the other character and trade up. The remove the other character and continue with your mains. And get used to RNG woes. I have yet to see a bane roll anything but a 4 on d4. 200 rolls and counting. Also ran into boss first character, first turn 11 times now. And then boss again on the 1st turn of the second character directly after. You'll be amazed at how many checks you fail by 1 or 2....or how many 1's you'll roll on 6 dice. Suck it up and keep going. Want to add another character that fares well after a few upgrades is Seoni. Her crusade lets you winnow through location decks at high speed at the cost of rewards, and her self buff (+d6 to any check) has a decent chance of drawing a blessing and therefore recharging. Granted you'll wince when you discard her only Cure 3 games in a row the first draw as I did..or two draws in a row discard her only weapons...but she is pretty hardy. Oh and customize the decks before you start...all basics are available...i.e. Seoni swap her weapons for all maces, make sure her spell is Cure, choose allies that are more globally useful (i.e. a stat check bonus versus a single skill check, etc...) it will help you get thru that initial rough early days.
  23. Location: Woods Encounter: Ancient Skeleton Henchman. Defeat Henchman. No option to close. No special adventure power that multi-spawns infinite henchman. And in any case doing to solo so 'extra' henchman aren't supposed to spawn anyway (they still do.)
  24. With any starting character with hand size 4 or less, solo. Before you act Nualia does 4 damage to you. Your hand is discarded. Now you must make 2 combat checks with no cards. I've lost 12 characters (death) already. Because she goes first, wipes your hand and you cannot do anything except then lose the next 2 checks which pretty much kills you. I'm sure there's another strategy, have not come up with one so was looking for help.
  25. Was there a change to the rules for the app version? This is allowed in the RPG as well as the card game...but not the app. Beast Form is not an Attack spell. Lini isn't using a weapon or spell with the attack trait.
