Unfortunately, after falling to the floor, my trackball randomly double clicks on its own(I'll replace it eventually, but it's a $130 trackball that isn't being made anymore), so I can't avoid the bug as easily as most. Until I know for certain that the bug will be fixed retroactively for existing saves, I can't go any further because I may have to reroll.
Mayhap you'll find this useful then?

Can somebody reupload this editor or post working link ?
The answer you're looking for is... two posts earlier :
Hey. The savegame editor is outdated and doesn't work, and LunaticPandora seems to have lost interest in finishing his version.
Considering the modding possibilities that are now becoming available, I think an interesting alternative would be to make an ingame editor instead. Why quit the game to edit a save when you can do it in game, on the fly. It's something I might look into later.

Since lots of people seem to have missed it. This is what Dev Adam Brennecke had to say about the bug on Saturday.
We do have a fix for this, and I'm trying to make it retroactive, so it will fix any save games that have this problem.
And to those wondering when the patch will be released :
source: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/71830-pillars-of-eternity-support-faq/
In other words, be patient
EDIT:
One developer in other forum said he doesn't know how to fix it and the lead one here on saturday said that he's trying to make it retroactive.
So, no clear promises yet.
The bug will be fixed for sure. And IIRC it already has, they just have to crash-test the fix.
Whether it'll be retroactive, however, is apparently not 100% sure but it's reasonable enough to expect it.
Has, this bug been fixed yet?
I am itching to play, but would rather wait to buy the game until this has been fixed.
I would definitely not hold off on playing the game at this point. Besides this bug, my experience has been very smooth so far!
Plus it's really easy to avoid it:
- drag & drop
- check abilities often
- save often and don't overwrite previous saves (that way you'll be able to go back to an unaffected save)
-
It was clear from the start that the game wouldn't have a D&D license, so I don't understand how you could expect it to have D&D combat.
I was really skeptical about combat after trying out the Backer Beta, but I'm actually quite enjoying it now. And much to my surprise, even engagement is not as annoying as I thought it would be (still think it's unnecessary though).
Visual clutter during combat, though, is really problematic IMO.

A barely working hotfix would be better than screwing up everyones current playthroughs/making us wait longer
Try to put yourself in their shoes: imagine the reaction here if you released a patch that breaks the game entirely somewhere else. They'd become the laughing stock of the internet.
They HAVE to thoroughly test it. And they are, even though it's the *weekend* and they shouldn't have to be working.
Also I know I bug like this is annoying, but it's *just* a game. It's not that important that the devs should put their lives and families on the side because frikkin double-clicking removes abilities...
And it's not like there's plenty of things to do in this game even with missing abilities on your PC. Seriously, try some side-quests, read the dialogues, visit all the maps for just a couple days, the fix will be out in no time.

Well you can tell the dude he was wrong This is the correct path:
/Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Pillars of Eternity/PillarsOfEternity.app/Contents/Data/Managed
But... this is the same path that he indicated. And this is the same path that I have on the mod's site. Now I'm confused.
Is this instruction correct or not? "Place the contents of the archive into Steam ▸ steamapps ▸ common ▸ Pillars of Eternity ▸ PillarsOfEternity.app ▸ Contents ▸ Data ▸ Managed"
Ah, sorry for the confusion: this is the correct path, yes !
However, for me the mod looks at the wrong path ('Contents/Data/Managed' became 'Contents/Managed')
See the log in the screenshot attached
Basically only missing the '/Data/' in path.

If you like using a gui to copy files on OS X, you can just run open /Applications/Pillars\ of\ Eternity.app/Contents/Resources/game/PillarsOfEternity.app/Contents/Data/ from the terminal to open the folder in the Finder.
If case you don't want to use the terminal, simply right click on the Game.app -> Show Package Contents

They ARE on this one, as acknowledged by JSawyer on SA (said issue has already been fixed but needs to be thoroughly tested before releasing a patch). Also the fact that I have been seeing many green-highlighted nicknames reading topics on a weekend suggests that they're taking this very seriously.
Lol they charge money to register at SA? Who the **** is paying that? I guess they are right, the internet does make you stupid.
O/T: Yes, well I was like you at first but turns out it's actually quite a nice and active forum, much friendlier than the Codex. Plus the fee keeps (most of) the trolls away.
Anyway, not the worst $10 I've spent in my life.

Guys, before you do anything rash, it seems abilities can be re-added from the console.
So you shouldn't have to restart the game entirely (although I guess this would disable Steam achievements? Not sure...)
Also, maybe a patch will be able to solve it by resetting your character entirely (e.g. move all equipped gear to inventory and allow you to level-up from scratch)?

Gee, that's a nasty one.
I *think* I'm not affected as I hadn't realised you can double-click-equip. The perks of being a noob, I guess

Yeah, maybe. I don't have a Mac, it's just some dude told me to write it like that, I've no idea if he's right or not.
Well you can tell the dude he was wrong This is the correct path:
/Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Pillars of Eternity/PillarsOfEternity.app/Contents/Data/Managed
It might be different for GOG Mac versions though.
Either way, it doesn't matter much as I can simply create the correct path and put the png's there. What I am not sure however is if it might affect anything else in the mod?

I don't know exactly how I did it but after clicking on several links a 'manual download' option appeared. This is where you should click.

I started with a wizard but gave the chanter a try and have to say I really like this class. Will have to restart the game...again, haha.
I know, right?
I still haven't ventured further than Gilded Vale because I felt compelled to try out 4 different classes. And I still can't decide which one I like best !
I'm currently running a cipher. She's alright, but not as good as she could be as I'm not a fan of min-maxing. Definitely an OK melee support though.

Hey Bester,
There might be a tiny bug on the Mac/Steam version.
See attached screen:
http://s27.postimg.org/uuu0eu777/2015_03_27_00001.jpg
Mod looks for custom frames at following path:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Pillars of Eternity/PillarsOfEternity.app/Contents/Managed/iemod
Where it should be:
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Pillars of Eternity/PillarsOfEternity.app/Contents/Data/Managed/iemod
As per the instructions on rien-ici.com

I don't think it's a 'bug'.
The bug in version BB480 was that capes were floating above your character's shoulders. Apparently it's not such a trivial bug, so I guess they just (temporarily) turned them off entirely. Pretty sure they're aware of it anyway.
-
I figured out a workaround.
Hit CMD+F to toggle windowed mode. From there you'll be able to see your dock and minimise the game.
It looks like a Unity bug to me, so am not sure if it's going to be fixable. Mind you, I like the current behaviour better that before, where you the dock would show up overtime you hovered your mouse towards the bottom of the screen.
-
Having the same problem.
Noticed it as early as Cilant Lis.
-
I'm having a frustrating issue at the moment where I am completely unable to minimise/switch to desktop.
I've tried swiping, cmd+tab, alt+tab, cmd+f, to no effect.
cmd+alt+esc completely exits the game without a warning/dialog window.
Also, it doesn't matter if the Steam overlay (shift+tab) is on or not.
Anyone else having this issue?
PS: I'm running Yosemite.

Hey you should probably contact Customer Support.
I'm sure they'll help you out :

The only reason I'm at work today is to take advantage of the ultra fast internet to download the game.
Unfortunately I think I just caught a nasty cold and I may have to call sick tomorrow.. ** COUGH ** -

Numéro un !
I am delighted, as it is the type of game that I like the most.
But also I really see this as a testimony of how amazing the BG series has been. People are nostalgic, and they want more. And even though I have a few qualms about combat and mechanics, I am really happy I bought this game. Some studios need to realise that content NEEDS to come before design. I care very little about vast 3D open-worlds when all they are is an empty shell.

You're right, it's even worse than stolen smartphones actually.
It's one own's intellectual property.
EDIT: again, if I wasn't clear before, I think it would have been a smarter self-promotion strategy to release non-watermarked images. I am almost certain that everyone would have played by the book and acknowledged the artist for the portraits just the same. Just like we refer to Bester's mod as 'Bester's'...
Savegame from Windows PC on Mac OS ?

At least not officially...
But I'd be happy to try a windows save on my mac for you if you want.
