KoToR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
bubblyofart replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think I've mentioened this myself sometime ago, not all good choices have to have good outcomes, as the saying goes: 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions' Therefore not necessarily doing the right thing, is the right idea as it may harm other ppl in the process, like for instance if a Jedi believed in peace before fighting so much, would it be right for him/her to negotiate with the enemy while they burned entire worlds to the ground??? Would that be the right thing to do? It might be, as Obi-wan once said, "from a certain point of view". -

Oh Final Fantasy. That's really a Wizzardry clone then. (I never finished FFXLVIX or whatever it was on my Playstation because it was just too silly. I deliberately uninstalled Wizardry 8 and burnt the discs after I had spent about a day on it: the combat was sooooooooo annoying. One group of nine enemies attacks your party of six. Each person gets an attack, which takes five seconds of flashing to conclude. Repeat for about fifty rounds per battle. Then take four steps and have a random encounter and repeat. Aaaarrrgggggghhhh! ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't diss Final Fantasy, especially Final Fantasy 7 as it was once 1 of the greatest RPG's of its time, especially the story and the part where Aeris was killed by Sephrioth (or watever his name was) was, and many people see it as, a defining moment in game-story history.

KoToR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
bubblyofart replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
lol, ain't that the truth, I'm getting a bit sick of having to continuly change discs when installing. But first things first, they actually got to make the game, and a decent 1 at that. -
me, I'm a dual-wielder I guess because it doesn't only look cool, but you get two colours, lol. My favourites are always (in order) Red + Blue Red + Green Silver + Blue Red + Purple (for whenever i go DS) The only reason I don't use yellow, is that I've never seen a Jedi wield a yellow lightsaber besides Bastila Shan.

The choices in dialog should also have different consequences, I know its probably asking too much, but come on has no one ever heard the phrase: 'The road to hell is paved with good intentions' Or something like that? not every good decision has to have a good outcome and vice versa. -
I have to agree that this is definately 1 of the best KOTOR3 storylines I've read, can't wait to c wat u do with the ending - though if Bastila were to die, that would break my heart, Revan and Bastila are made for each other, like Leia is to Han (actually any1 notice that Bastila and Leia are kinda similar, along the lines that their both kinda stuck up at the beginning?)

Should The True Sith Be In Kotor III?
bubblyofart replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Death Scepter: Dark Jedi are "loyal" to the Krath or the Sith. That is why in the games you will see a lot of Dark Jedis fighting with the Siths. that would be so great to see, when all out war breaks out between the Republic and the True Sith, to see your two enemies fighting each other. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" -
TSL Restoration Project: Work in Progress
bubblyofart replied to Aurora's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i would say great work guys, but... i haven't got the game yet, lol, i was just wondering whether i should get KOTOR2 now or wait for the patch and the mod to be complete then buy the game? Cause im struggling between buying TSL or Splinter Cell: Choas Theory -
Is Anyone A Bastila/Carth/Revan Trio Fan?
bubblyofart replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Like some other ppl here, im a huge fan of LSRevan and Bastila. Carth was alright, but seeing as im a guy....characterwise he was decent, and I have to disagree with other people who find him annoying (which i can't understand y). Onboard the Lev. was great, when the three of them were captured, the romantic storyline between Revan and Bastila was so well written, i was so immerserd and felt so attached to Bastila, its sad to know that i felt terrible about having to torture Bastila in order not to tell Saul anything, of course that was even worse when she sacrificed herself and turned to the dark-side. i was thoroughly disappointed that the last thing they said to each other at the end of the game was Bastila saying, 'Good luck my love...and may the force be with you'. Though it was great feeling to know i had been able to save her. HK-47 was also a great character to have round, especially for a laugh, though didn't anyone else find it a bit annoying when he kept saying, 'statement' or 'question' at the start of each sentence??? -
I'm frankly sick of going through different posts and finding people switching subject to argue about who the player character in KOTOR3 should be. So here, this poll will help allow Obsidian/other game developers, see who the public has ultimately decided should be the PC, without having to read other posts. Of course I've left this open to discussion as I know how we all love to debate. IMO it has to be Revan, of course his going to be all-powerfull, but the developer can create the illusion of him being powerful. For instance instead of starting with Force shock - Force lightening - Force Storm, we can start by choosing Force Storm and work up from there, all the developer has to do is come up with some newer, stronger, more impressive force powers. Character-wise Revan has the edge over the Exile, simply because of the romantic plots with Bastila/Carth, and alot of people may agree with me out there. In this sense because there's such strong bond, if Revan was helping the True Sith Empire, cause they turned him or sumthing, Bastila/Carth could be there next to the Newbie/Exile to turn him back, which would be an interesting alternative to fighting the boss/sub-boss. If, like in KOTOR2, we can deicide in K3 wat happend previously, there could be a special ending like Bastila/Carth getting married - i know i'm sad, but i c the problem with Rpg's is that they don't at least have a romantic sub-plot, though most of Bioware's does, as it adds another level of intrigue and path for the player to take.

KoToR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
bubblyofart replied to hattifnatt's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This is a quote from PCZONE: It's been overstated by press and publisher alike that Sith Lords is KOTOR's The Empire Strikes Back. They said the same thing about Attack Of The Clones too; the prequel sequel that was supposed to lead us bleakly into Episode III. In truth, Spaceballs had darker moments. Here though, the comparison between game and film is apt, for not only is Sith Lords the chronological centrepiece for a planned KOTOR trilogy... Usually their right about stuff like this, in fact I agree with their opinion that this game is the chronological centrepiece for this trilogy. Another quote from them is: It's not quite up to the standard of Empire Strikes Back perhaps, but it's still certainly the second best middle act to grace any Star Wars trilogy. Let's just hope that the next episode can at least equal The Return Of The Jedi... At the end of the day though I think its only Obsidian who can tell us whether they truely planned The Sith Lords as the centrepiece of the trilogy. So Obisidan did ya??? -
Question for the EU canon lawyers
bubblyofart replied to Plano Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Look at the end of the day its Lucas's opinion over everybody elses and those that create the EU r just going to have to adapt, and I agree that they did a pretty good job of implementing KOTOR into the EU. However if you don't like parts of the EU, that is why we have imaginations ppl, just come up with it urself and implement the storys that you want. Thats wat i do and my version of the Star Wars universe sounds pretty damn cool - because it suits me. -

I have some gripes with running around doing errands for Revan/Exile, to me that would feel like Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, which isn't a bad thing but I didn't enjoy running so many errands. As for the graphics engine I think they should licence the Unreal Engine 3.0 (this has been mentioned before, not only by me), Bioware supposedly has the licence to use the Engine, so why not Obsidian or whatever Developer is making KOTOR3. As for not playing as Revan, I think that may be a mistake plus maybe Obsidian was hinting that Revan would be making a come back as it would be pointless including Revan in KOTOR2 without some reason, other than appealing to those of KOTOR1 lol. Plus like so many others I feel that Revan's relationships were so much more realistic and appealing which I feel would give KOTOR3 the epic concluding saga feeling, et al Leia and Han or in LOTR Aragorn and Aowen (maybe). -

bubblyofart replied to hattifnatt's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
some of these ideas sound great, and in fact some of you guys have come up with similar ideas to mine. Boy are we going to be dissappointed if Obsidian doesn't listen to any of our ideas " Anyway I've been thinking that while wielding lightsabers single, dual or double-ended, I think we need a new type of fighting style and i know this sounds far-fetched (not that Star Wars isnt...) but how bout wielding two double-ended lightsabers, one in each hand - and if Revan is as powerful in the force as they say well he shouldnt have much trouble. Undoubtedly the animation is going to be a hell of a thing to do, good luck to developers on that. -
I have a problem with the new Star Wars movie
bubblyofart replied to Angry Sherpa's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
imo i rate the prequels almost on par with that of the OT, well firstly people say the acting in the prequels are generally crap I might be inclined to agree were it not for the fact that when you look at Episode 4, the acting wasn't exactly all that great either. Plus I never had a problem with the midichlorians, weirdly enough i thought it was like cancer. I mean everyone in the world has cancer it just depends on the conditions necessary to act as a catalyst to get cancer going and spreading. So the Jedi and Sith kinda found a way to tap this 'cancer' and control it. Also I never had a problem with the Anakin being whiny in Episode 1 and 2 as I believe it shows how most kids and teenagers act nowadays. There always whining bout something. But with Episode 3 there shouldn't be any whining now as Anakin should have matured by now, hopefully. I do agree on 1 thing though, how the hell did Lucas come up with as crap a creature as Jar-Jar Binks. But good on him for coming up with the now famous double-ended lightsaber -

I agree wholeheartedly about tieing up the loose plot ends but considering this is the destruction of the True Sith Empire wouldn't the PC if they went evil want to join the True Sith? So what kinda ending would that conjure up? because if they don't get destroyed well they'd be no Republic and mess up the movies -
What we REALLY need in KOTOR3
bubblyofart replied to Matt7895's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I've got 1 thing to level about the Hutts in KOTOR1. Supposedly they are immune to Force mind trick, well you know the one on Tatoonie in the Swoop Bike area I kept asking him to give me a discount and then Bastila intervened and said she was getting fed up with this and used Force Persuade on the Hutt and he gave me the discount(at least i think it was something to do with a discount, might have been bout awards). So wat the heck is up with that???????? -
KoToR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
bubblyofart replied to hattifnatt's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Personally I think if the KOTOR series was to end in a trilogy, it wouldn't be such a bad thing, seeing as it would stick with the Starwars tradition of always being done in trilogys. Of course Obsidian would have to come up with an epic story that kicked ass out of KOTOR 1 & 2. The graphics must be dealt with though, so hopefully they have a new engine running it. Though if this is the last in the KOTOR series it may kinda have to do with the destruction of the Sith, because for those who have seen the starwars movies will know that the Jedi Council mentions that the Sith haven't been seen for thousands of years till Darth Maul. Now I haven't played KOTOR 2 yet, though I do plan to, I've heard that its ending was kinda anti-climatic, but doesn't most penultimate shows end with a cliff-hanger, look at Halo 2 for example or possibly Star Wars Episode 5 in a way. Character-wise, perhaps they should allow you to play as either Revan or the Exile, preferably Revan, and the Exile as a NPC, maybe, because theres just something about Revan's character that could lend itself to the destruction of the Sith. Also during Kotor1 I'm one of those fans who was hooked on the game due to many reasons, the love story included. Playing from a male's point of view I couldn't wait to see how the relationship between Bastila and Revan would end up. Though in the end I was disappointed, sure Bastila admitted her love for Revan but the last thing Bastila ever said to Revan was 'Good Luck my love...and may the force be with you'. I mean what kinda ending was that!!! In KOTOR 3 they should have the two back together, now I don't mean they have to defy the Jedi Council et al Anakin and Padme. But if the Sith did fall in the end perhaps Revan and Bastila leave the Order, which the Jedi don't exactly accept which explains why in the movies they don't talk bout them. That's another reason to have Revan as a PC as the Exile's relationship with others in a word, sucked. I've said this elsewhere in the forums, Obsidian the reason why Revan's and Bastila's relationship worked was because it was old-fashioned romance and not, all this 'naked' fighting and Force sex crap in KOTOR2(well thats what I've heard happens in KOTOR2). And one thing does anyone know if Obsidian staff truely read these forums????? -
Female Romance option SUCKS!
bubblyofart replied to Woodsprite4's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I hope the Obsidian staff actually bother to read these forums once in awhile, because KOTOR3 could be a product all fans would be happy with. The ladies want more, and better sub-plots and better romantic options for lady PC. And even us old-fashioned romantic type of guys want some better options as well. I'll say it again that the relationship between Revan and Bastila was old-fashioned romance that you don't see in today's movies, and they have to bring them back. So Obisidan if your listening, give the ladies what they want!!! and men too while your at it!!! and ifitzgerald I'm glad I'm not the only guy that feels like that, and by the way I am not obsessed with Bastila, she's just the best NPC character i've met in a long time. -
Female Romance option SUCKS!
bubblyofart replied to Woodsprite4's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
okay Im a guy so I won't get bogged down in this, but I've played through KOTOR1 as LS male and found that the love story between Revan and Bastila was one of the things that had me hooked to the game. While you women complain about the female options, I've heard that Obsidian screwed the romance options for both sexes up. I've heard that they said something along the lines of, to hell with the romantic stories. I like the KOTOR1 love story, because it was kinda like old-fashioned romance, not this 'naked' fighting and Force sex crap. Now I don't know about you women, but the best part of KOTOR1 for me has to be the temple-roof. I felt my stomach drop to see that Bastila had turned to DS, as I'd been playing through the game as LS male and sadly enough felt quite attached to Bastilas character. Though when she finally did admit her love for Revan on the Star Forge and turned back to the light, I kinda felt elated that it had worked out for Revan and Bastila. Of course then Obsidian came along and mucked up that romance, as well as implement some terrible romantic options for the Exile. Hopefully for KOTOR3, whoever's making it has to bring Revan and Bastila back together, whether for good or evil, and undoubtedly better romantic options for the ladies. -
Well if Obsidian ever reads their forums I truely hope that they hear me when I they must really do and excellent job with KOTOR3 and this time not to dump the love story because they hated it, for me it was one of the things that had me hooked to the game. Also if the series was done in a triology, then it would follow the Starwars tradition of always being done in trilogys. Of course Obsidian would have to come up with an epic story that kicked ass out of KOTOR 1 & 2, that shouldn't be too hard considering most of their employees are ex-blizzard dudes, I think. Plus the graphics need a complete overhaul, personally if they got the licence to use the Unreal Engine 3.0 I think the lightsabers and force powers would go beyond cool. Though if this is the last in the series it may kinda have to do with the destruction of the Sith, because for those who have seen the starwars movies will know that the Jedi Council mentions that the Sith haven't been seen for 1000's of years till Darth Maul. Now I haven't played KOTOR 2 yet, though I do plan to, I've heard that its ending was kinda anti-climatic, but doesn't most penultimate shows end with a cliff-hanger, look at Halo 2 for example or possibly Star Wars Episode 5 in a way. Character-wise, perhaps they should allow you to play as either Revan or the Exile, preferably Revan, and the Exile as a NPC maybe, because theres just something about Revan's character that could lend itself to the destruction of the Sith. But if the Sith did fall in the end perhaps Revan and Bastila leave the Order, which the Jedi don't exactly accept which explains why in the movies they don't talk bout them. Think about it. And hopefully Obsidian actually reads these forums because frankly if they took in some ideas they could have a product which pleases a lot of fans.
