So, I was poking arround the dialogues and I noticed a chunk of goings on in the swamp that I missed entirely in my 3/4 playthroughs. Or was it cut from the game?

Possible SPOILERS ahead, obviously...

Is it possible to have an entirely peaceful solution to the stuck-in-the-swamp situation? Maru-Yatum is supposed to offer to return the prisoners if you take a crawler infested path out of the swamp (which also forces the royalists to abandon their cannons). But I never got to talk to him before starting the killings.

Also a quest from Digglefitz the gobiln to retrieve the skull of the First Elder from some burial caves, which you can then give to Maru-Yatum and gain his trust and the title of Kthali, a warrior of great honor instead of Firebringer and Outsider (and you can also sick the tribe on the poor goblin for influence with Anjali, hehehe). Where is this guy, if anywhere (He's supposed to have come with Arah, the missionary girl)?

Oh, and also a part where you're helping defend Roderick from slugs while he's setting explosive charges to blast some roots.

I didn't see those events, either. That sounds like it would explain the pacing issue I sensed around there. The swamp seemed to be rather short compared to the other zones. Doubly so with all the content at Raven's Rill, the zone prior.

Yeah, I listened to those too. :)

Games, just like movies & other things, often have bits & pieces that are left on the cutting room floor, so to speak. VO is done for a bunch of stuff/all the possible things being considered at the time, but not all of it is necessarily used, for various reasons....and sometimes, they leave those recordings in the voice file for some reason (as well as tests, duplicate line readings, etc). It could be because of time & resource constraints, or it could be something as simple as a decision that what was cut didn't fit with what they wanted (artistic decision), and it was "too late" to do something else instead (so a combo of both kinda).

Anyway, there's nothing like that in the game that I've found and I also wished the swamp section was longer, if only because I liked the environment vs. the usual buildings and dirt paths. :-

Oooh, there's also some talk about Hearthfire - an old legion outpost, hidden in the causeways. There the legion gathered to conclaves to elect the new grand master and people were initiated into the legion - if The Radiant Youth appeared to them they were accepted, or if he didn't they were cast out - even if they completed the trials that were required beforehand. A tradition continued since the Youth appeared to the founders of the legion. It should be reached by going into the causeways from Stonebridge and going the other path than to Glitterdelve once you had the quest.

This thing looks like a nice bet for DLC - fits into the game nicely, without feeling like cut content as far as I can tell. Crossing fingers here :D .

DLC or expansion. The part about the election of the Grand Master being hold here could fit well with the aftermath of the first game, in which we launch the rebuild of the Legion but haven't yet started to really rebuild it.
