Attacks that deal additional elemental damage show:

self: +X% damage as damage type (for x seconds if it has a duratuion).

 

When reading this my first thought is that you take damage when you do this ability.

 

I think it would be better to do it like the withering strike description.

 

BONUS DAMAGE: + 30% damage as burn, +20% damage as corrode

 

I found this for flames of devotion and lightning strikes, maybe there are other abilities too.
