Lamppost in Winter Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) Got some nits to pick about spell schools.Ironskin's description specifically includes the word "transmutes", and is flavour-wise very much a Transmutation spell, but is considered Enchantment. I also feel Arkemyr's Wondrous Torment fits Enchantment more than it does Illusions. Indeed, I think despite Enchantment being described as, among other things, affecting the mind, most of the mind-affecting spells are in the Illusions school. Most of them fit that way, but at least this one doesn't have any flavour that makes it fit in Illusions. These are the only ones I've really cared to notice so far, so feel free to share your own. -dib- Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I agree that some of the spells feel like they have the wrong school but it's obviously for game balance in which case they should rewrite the spell descriptions for those spells to make them actually fit into those spell schools. 1
PsychoBlonde Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 I made a rogue/wizard, read the school descriptions, and thought, humm, sounds like most of the self-buffs will be in Transmuting since that makes changes to yourself and others . . . NOPE all the self-buffs are enchanting, transmuting is stuff like . . . summoning a cloud of freezing crystals (shouldn't that be conjuring?) Frankly, I think they could drop one or more schools entirely, there are too many for the number of spells they have. 1 Grand Rhetorist of the Obsidian OrderIf you appeal to "realism" about a video game feature, you are wrong. Go back and try again.
Lamppost in Winter Posted January 1, 2018 Author Posted January 1, 2018 Yeah, it seems hard to use the subclasses to achieve a specific character concept, apart from Evoker and Illusionist maybe.
