Greenstone Staff not counting kills?

Featured Replies

Ok so this Greenstone Staff (Soulbound Weapon), is not counting kills for the its second level up.

I bound this weapon to Hiravis (the Druid) and at the moment I am exploring Durgans Battery. The staff was working fine for the first tier level up but its not acknowledging any kills for the second level.

The level up requirements are showing up as ;

Blights : 0/5

or

Any enemy : 1/25

I dont know which one enemy kill was acknowledged but I have killed about 15+ enemies (beetles, oozes, trolls, spirits etc) with the staff but its not counting them.

Am I missing something here or is this some kind of glitch?

And if its a glitch, does someone know a workaround for this glitch?

Thanks.

I *think* the tooltips don't really give all the info one needs (perhaps by design?)  I have Stormcaller on my elf ranger.  Getting the 250 dmg using shock was a piece of cake.  However, getting 25 kills for the next level (or 5 kith druids - but jeez, I already KILLED all the druids.... *sigh* - guess I'll know for next time....) is - interesting.  I got 10/25 finishing the White Forge.  And I actually have no clue which kills went toward that total.  There ARE no kith down there - only spirits, wraiths, spectres, shades.  So what I got those kill ticks for?  No clue.

It's okay with me - I don't have any real reason to hurry through this (because I'm max level now so don't get any more xp.... Oh well, yeah, I do get the xp, but I know it's not being retained....) but I do think that some things should be more clear about this process.  Anyway, it's interesting, if not easily parsed - which drives my nitnoidy completionist soul seriously NUTS.

I think the staff needs to deal the final blow for it to be counted.

I've had the same problem with this staff. Hirvias has had it and I've even sent him into battle alone (all AI's off, priest and Wizard helped with buffs and non-damage CC, no spirit shifting) and no change to the counter at the second tier. He has managed to get 3/25 somehow.

Yes i am also talking about final blows, every time an enemy is about to die i pull my party away from that enemy and make sure Hiravis scores the final blow with the staff but the kills are not getting counted.

i have killed about 30+ enemies by now (killing blows with the staff) but somehow i still have the score of 1/25.

I wish there was a workaround for this glitch......I am calling this glitch because as per the description any monster kills should count.

IIRC QA mentioned in the bug forum that the issue stems from some creatures lacking a flag that makes them count toward the kills for upgrading soulbound weapons - or something like that. Hopefully it will get fixed in the next patch.

I unequipped the staff and then re-equipped it, It seems to be working for now.
