Are stronghold hireling costs supposed to constantly change?

I've been wondering about this noticing that my hireling costs seem to randomly change between 30 and 50 gp for the normal ones.

yes, they are supposed to change.

 

You pay your hierlings once every week (not exactly sure how many days between paydays), and the changing number is (their daily salary * number of days since payday).
