[2.0] Stronghold - Guest/Random-Event hirelings not appearing

After installing the 2.0 patch, it seems that the 2 hirelings that appeared by random at my stronghold, and whom I've already hired before installing the patch, have gone missing from my list of hirelings. One of them was the Glanfathan Soul Hunter...I can't remember who the other one was.

 

So now the game states that my stronghold has hired 3 hirelings but the list only shows that 1 is hired, and I can't dismiss those 2 random event hirelings.

Hello, greckoboy.  Guest Hirelings are only temporarily part of your crew.  They leave after a given amount of time.  The issue here is that they are still considered part of your crew although they are no longer around.  Thank you for pointing this out, I will add a bug to our database regarding this issue!

Just to be sure though; I only just hired the Glanfathan Soul Hunter (about 1 day or less in game time). Was he supposed to leave so soon? I'm pretty sure he hadn't left yet when I updated to 2.0. If I remember correctly, the stronghold log also didn't say anything about him leaving.

 

For the first guest hireling, he might have left already, so there might still be a problem of a different kind, which you have pointed out.

I also experienced the disappearance of the Glanfathan Soul Hunter directly after upgrading to 2.0; I thought it was coincidental that he left but now that I read this, this might be too much of a coincidence. Also the soul hunter had just arrived at the stronghold 3 or 4 days ago. I got no message in the Strongholds' Journal about his departure.

Yep, I have this too. Guest hirelings disappeared from my list after install Patch 2.0 but they still take up space in the 8/8.

 

Hello again.  We have a bug in our database regarding the guests leaving without giving the player notice.  I'm not exactly sure when they are supposed to leave but will look into that and update this thread.  Thanks again!

 

From my experience, pre-2.0, guest hirelings never left if you'd actually hired them. They only departed if you left them in the roster unhired.

 

Are you sure that wasn't the intention all along?? Don't fix something that isn't broke.

Hello again.  The intention is that they are guests and have a limited time of employment.  There have never been messages letting you know that they are leaving, and it has been suggested internally that we fix that and let the player know when they leave.  As far as still taking up space in the Hiring log, we are aware of that issue and it has been entered into our database.  Thanks for your support and patience during this issue!

Hello, a search led me to this thread, and I can share some more insight as I am having the same issue.

 

I appreciate the developer's activity in the thread, however my general game experience is the same as Infinitron's and different than you described, celliott.  Pre-2.0, I have had, when hired, special hirelings (Glanfathan Soul Hunter, Fellow of St. Waidwen, etc.) be active in my stronghold for months of gametime and they have never left.  Perhaps that is not intended, but that has been my experience, and they only leave if not hired.  In my opinion, it's nice to have them there constantly when hired, and may cause unnecessary micromanaging if they only remain in the stronghold for short periods of time.

 

Post 2.0, as described above, I do not have the names of the special hirelings in my keep roster, however the numbers are still counted toward the 8 total, and they are still physically there in my stronghold.  If the other two posters wish to check, the Glanfathan Soul Hunter should be standing next to Brighthollow.  I do not remember my pre-2.0 security and prestige numbers to be able to tell if their presence is reflected.

This may be related to a bug in how Prestige and Security ratings are broken down:

Not sure if this is the same bug, but I can't seem to hire any more hirelings at Caed Nua for some reason? I have several that died after a Vithrack attack and I can't seem to replace them?
