So, price is an issue and it has to be large enough for her to watch things on, like netflix stuff and read on comfortably. My preference would be windows I think, because adblock doesn't work with Android and there is all the bloatware from the manufacturer you can't opt out of. Lenovo makes good laptops for the money. As usual, my go-to for recommendations is Notebookcheck, who happily enough have a handy Top 10 Windows Tablets section which is regularly updated, and most are easily in your price range.
