Has anyone here used one of these heider light whatsits?

The pictures on their website look rather ...imaginative. But the concept is interesting. I still have friends in the Forces, and am always looking for neat presents.

Okay, those are all sufficiently badass. I'll try the BBX model and see what Dutch engineering is about.

By Dutch engineering, I meant designed in Germany, manufactured in China.

Very nearly bought the CSX model but realized I'd probably never use it because my life is so boring now. May still get it but probably not today.

Well, since posting I've found some pretty ambivalent reviews on them.

I guess several companies have had similar ideas.

Any more perspectives?

Oh, okay, hopefully 'ambivalent' is another way of saying good quality, reliable, durable. I'll find out in seven business days, so they say.

Nothing yet, no delivery.

Hopefully the longer it takes, the more awesome it will be.

See, all you have to do is post it, and the next day you'll get it.

In all, I'm pleased. It feels good in my hand, sturdy, evidently worth the cost. It's freaking bright, like a xenon spotlight, or whatever the kids are saying these days.

If I was one of Wals' former SAS buddies, I'd be chuffed to receive it as a gift.

For approximately double the money you can get night vision goggles. Just sayin'
