I just noticed this little chat icon for the first time after becoming lord of Cad Nua.

My concern is if I missed any of these convo icons before becoming the lord of the keep? Were there any other convos like these before going to Cad Nua?

Despite what I may post, I'm a huge fan of Pillars of Eternity, it's one of my favorite RPG's.

Depends on what you've done and who've you talked to and such, what companion quests you have started, etc.

But my bet would be on "No".

I believe Eder wants to chat with you soon after you meet him, not positive though but I don't think you have missed anything important.  If you have Durance he doesn't want to talk to you until you have the a vision about him and his staff and that takes a few sleep periods.  Rest periods I mean.

People do miss that symbol sometimes.

It really depends on how linear you played. If you followed the yellow brick road to Caed Nua so to speak, you shouldn't have missed anything. There are certain triggers when they want to have a talk.
