I have never seen this attack do anything. Consequently these mobs are extremely easy to deal with.

Their DR is broken, and now that I think of it, I can't recall the spit doing anything... ever.

it annoys the hell out of you if you got Auto-Pause on Enemy Spell Cast , other than that ? nothing .

Just had the same issue and found this post -- oozes seem to do absolutely zero damage to my party. I'm guessing this is not a high priority bug.
