Companion respec does not work

I rolled a new character and when I recruited Aloth however I cannot respec his attributes

 

Am I missing something?

 

I dont see any button that permits the respec of attribute points.

It's only allowed when you first recruit them, and you have to disable auto-leveling.

Yes but even when you disable Auto Leveling, you cannot change companion stats like Constittution, Perception or Might

 

Those stats are really critical to how the characters play, their defences, etc

The stats in this game are what you're born with. They are not reborn when you recruit them so its natural you will not get to choose their stats.

 

Should be noted that the companions have not had that bad stats since 1.03. They should be doable for most builds you can come up with their given classes.

You don't get to change their stats, race, background etc. All you get to do is start them at level 1 and then pick their abilities and talents as they level up to their current XP.
