Crucible Knights not valid for hearings

Question

Posted

I did the quests Winds of Steel for the Crucible Knights, but for the hearings I had to tell Lady Webb that I have burned my bridges with all three factions. That is weird. I got my 2 DR from being a Crucible Knight etc.

What's your status with the other factions?  I "blew" my chance with the Crucible Knights by (mistakenly) becoming an "ally" of The Dozen.. and it's pretty easy to become a troublemaker with House Doemenal.

The only thing I did for the Dozens was to get the guy his Armour. I never even spoke to the main guy (Wenan I think is his name) Did everything for Crucible Knights and never spoke to Doemenals.

It is hardly the point. How can I have burned my bridges with the Crucible Knights when I did all their quests and saved them from their own forge knights????!!!

Compared to my first play-though I did one quest for crucible knights (2 if you count Heritage Hill). Did exactly the same with Doemenals. And I was still able to represent the Dozens at the trail after doing their second quest. Why would it not be the same for the Crucible knights?

Here is the Char I was having this problem with (obviously took the invite from Lady Webb to attend, but I still found it odd)

"How can I have burned my bridges with the Crucible Knights when I did all their quests and saved them from their own forge knights?"

Because they are a fickle bunch.  They wouldn't give me any more quests after I became an inadvertant ally of the Dozens.  Might be a bug in your case.

No, he should be fine. The situation you are talking about is when you accept a specific quest from either of the three factions, you get locked out of the other two. If he's done Winds of Steel and saved the Crucible Knights from their Forge Knights, this shouldn't happen. It's the defining quest for gaining their loyalty and be named a honorary justiciar.

Reputations also do not matter at all, you can be an ally or a hero of the other factions, which is an oddity on it's own - being a hero of the Dozen yet they refuse to even talk to you just because you've taken on a quest - not performed it, just taken it on. So there's some wonkyness. But that's not the problem, here, or shouldn't be a problem, anyway.

Omicron, is the leader of The Knights of the Crucible still alive? Go and check. Also, if you could post your savegame somehow, that could be helpful. I'm not sure if I can help you, but at the very least, if everything checks out but the triggers are still shot, QA will want to take a look at it.

Yup, went to go and check out what his problem was when I saw my conversation choice with Lady Webb, he did not have anything to say for himself. I remember talking to him after winds of steel and I told him to keep experimenting with the forge knight idea. Posting my savegame  wont help, it is Trial of Iron and I already moved past that with Lady Webb's invitation. Just thought it is a possible bug worth noting.

Well while that makes it impossible for us to take a look at the current situation, it would still be wise to post the savegame just so QA can look at the triggers and see if they can find what causes it. Triggers are stored in the savegame, and clearly something didn't trigger properly (or triggered by mistake).

I've run into this exact same scenario. How do I go about posting my save game? Were there any negative effects from selecting Lady Webb's option that you burned all bridges?

I have the same problem as vanquishedValiant, I received the invitation from Clyver to go to the hearing but I can't say it to Webb...

I have the same problem! Lady Webb only have the burned all bridges option.
Also, when returning to the Crucible Knights keep, everyone reacts as if nothing have happened. There is no special dialogue or anything mentioning past events. I don't know if this is a bug or related in any way but I thought I should mention it just in case.

I have the same problem. Crucible Knights was the only faction I did any work for and I have their invitation, but the "burned bridges" is the only option available when talking to lady Webb.

I'm starting to get tired of waiting for a potential fix that might not even come... does this choice make that much of a difference? Like, the rep with the faction helping the decision? Or should I just go ahead with my game...

Good question, because if this choice does not impact much of the game after the hearing... Why bother? I don't play for a week because of that bug.
