Satris
Hey all! I'm about 50 hrs into the game, and have reached Burial Isle. I have a group of all lvl 9 toons in Exceptional gear and weapons. I just killed the Sky Dragon after about 5 hrs of practice. Simple question, I can't turn back, so am I ready for Thaos and Breith Eaman now? Or should I level more? Thanks! Cant EDIT: moved to non spoiler forum.
Concordance
Breith Eaman is a point of no return. You will not be able to leave. The game will end after you finish the main quest. Considering the level cap is 12 and the game has at least 14 levels worth of experience, you have probably missed a lot of sidequests. You may want to tend to them before finishing the game. sparklecat
What difficulty are you playing on? I did the final fight at level 10 on Hard, so I expect 9 would be perfectly doable as well.
Climhazzard
It's a challenge at level 12, I recommend clearing more side quests and the endless paths, make sure to do the bounty quests they are worth a lot of experience. If you do decide to give it a try at level 9 make sure to save before jumping down the hole. Edited April 20, 2015 by Climhazzard
Satris
Thanks for the responses so far. I'm on normal level, so far only the toughest monsters have been challenging. I think I'll do the bounty quests, just found out about them, and then finish the dungeon too, that should get me close to 12.
Concordance
I think the enemy encounters in the main quest scale down to your party, to allow for a pacifist playthrough where you skip as much combat as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if the final boss is beatable with a level 6 party, even if none of the enemies on the way to the final area are.
Althernai
I don't think there is any scaling aside from what comes with the difficulty level. Combat doesn't give you much XP: it only gives any while the Bestiary is updated and even that is small compared to quests.
Crucis
What you could do is create a Save before going to the Burial Isle, or at least before going down into Breith Eaman. Then you could choose to see if you can finish the game at your current level. If you can't, just load up this save file like you never went and go back and pile on more XP and levels until you feel up to the challenge. It might be technically possible, but the final boss was a tough fight. And skipping combat won't make you lose out on xp; only skipping quests. Space
I couldn't defeat Thaos at lvl 10 when I first descended into Breith Eaman. I had to load the point of no return save and complete the bounty quests first. The bounty quests give a lot of experience and I reached lvl 12 before finishing all the bounties.
