true, but the effects I'm referring to are not flames. It's a bunch of blue particle effects... like droplets of water. 

Fair enough. In that case it doesn't make much sense. Unless the fire damage is a representation of the character's 'soul' expression? I'm determined to find a way to make it fit  ;)
