September 4, 201411 yr They seem to be but they also are still effected by any bugs the old version had the new one doesn't. I would take Sensuki's advice, delete and start over.

September 4, 201411 yr It would probably be a good idea for the coders to just check the save is made with the current version (ie: save version == game version). Would avoid false bug reports.
