Today was a good day to work from home!

I am playing now. This might be a stupid question but are my characters meant to be walking at a snails pace?

My internet was acting up yesterday, then just died completely at about 1am. At the time, I was upset (it was one of the first evenings I've just been able to sit down and play some games and relax in the past several weeks), but now, I see that it was just resting up for the big day today.
