June 1, 201411 yr top hockey players invariably state that stanley cup>olympic gold>world championship is the way these things is ranked . is too bad that folks gotta schedule world championship same time as nhl playoffs. at least in basketball they do during the nba off-season. sure, some nba stars still ain't gonna risk injury and so forgo world championships (regardless of their nationality) but at least there is a much better opportunity to get nba stars involved. have immediate following or contemporaneous with the premiere professional league playoffs is seeming like poor judgement. At least the former would be up to discussion again since it seems like there will be no NHL-players available for the next Olympics.
