Create subforum for polls?

It might be a good idea to move all polls in a subforum where everyone can browse through all the open polls.

Later one could even think about merging topically similar polls if that is possible.

 

I think this could increase the overall participation.

The more important thing to ask is... do the devs even look at the polls?

A lot of the polls currently running are kinda pointless anyways... choices too restricted, heavily biased towards the preferences of the poster, etc. Guess the devs will create their own poll when they need public opinion on something (and sticky it).

I'd much prefer if polls were the sole domain of Moderators and Developers. If Devs are too busy they could maybe shoot a Mod a message to stick up a poll.

 

At the current rate we are seeing very similar polls every day or two, they just don't stay on the page long enough for the next person to see it, so they make their own one.

 

Also if you want to ask a question you don't need to make a Poll, this thread for example doesn't need to be a poll. The Poll several threads below about what game brought you to PE doesn't need to be a poll either.

I voted yes, but honestly I don't have a strong opinion on this one.

 

However, ANYTHING that gets me some more polls about polls or even a poll about the relevancy of this poll on polls would be most appreciated.

There is an option in the UI to only show polls. That should do the trick for everyone.

I like the idea of being able to incorporate a poll in any discussion topic. It would seem odd to restrict polls to a separate forum section IMO. In any active forum, if a particular discussion topic is not active for a few days, people might make new discussions about similar topics, whether it has a poll or not.

 

And then, would you ban polls from all the existing forum sections not related to Project Eternity? It seems like restricting polls in this way would cause a lot of work for the forum admins and ultimately do more harm than good.

You know... you can just filter the topics on this forum so that polls appear first.

I would go further and request that we also have a sub forum for romances so we can all avoid all the romance polls and threads in the main discussion forum.
